Did you click on the Memory tab in CPUZ? Your new memory settings should be there. If they are not did you save the new settings in the bios? Use Memtest86+ V1.7 to test if your memory is stable, and then Orthos or Prime95 Blend setting. I wrote a mini overclocking guide for my son for this MB and posted it for Tungfree a few pages back in this thread, use it in conjunction with Graysky's overclocking guide.Originally posted by: joker380
Well guys i was able to set my memory to 4-4-4-12 and it booted up fine now things is in the CPUZ the specs doesnt come anymore for the Ram. Is this a problem and also is there a program to check if the RAM is working fine on that settings.

I believe brencat is correct. You'll probably need to flash to BIOS v.14 or v.15.
Try clearing CMOS.Originally posted by: slickms
Now the PC won't boot up. The last things I see on the screen is "Verifying DMI Pool... ". Doesn't move any further.
If this being cause because of a double boot issue?
Can someone tell me if I can update the BiOS using a USB thumb drive?

Yes, you can update the BIOS from an USB drive.

OK, when you cleared CMOS did you reset the RAM voltage?
Depending upon which exact Corsair that you have it may need more than the JEDEC 1.8V to run at it's rated speed.
Yes I did change it to 1.9 V and didn't help. Now trying to figure out how to update the BIOS. I don't have a floppy and this thing doesn't seem to boot from USB. Anyone know any tricks?

My board came with V13 and my 8400 booted and is running no problem what so ever. I have even only had the dual boot once so I'm not going to even both to flash it until they get a version that can read the temps right.
System Properties is wrong. The reason Windows shows 3.42ghz is that it thinks you are using the base 9x multiplier programmed for that CPU (instead of the 8x multiplier you are really using) x your 380 FSB to get 3.42ghz. Nice to see the lack of attention to detail from XP has carried over into Vista :thumbsdown:Originally posted by: joker380
One thing i dont understand is why the system properties is showing 3.4ghz and the CPU-Z is showing 3.04
It has 1 major problem & that's the RAM voltage setting. (it's still on the ftp just not linked)Originally posted by: ReplayBios version 13 is the one with so many problems that Abit pulled it from the download page.
when running in the BIOS the CPU can't access features like the system idle process etc. so it is running at a very high rate hence the high temp.Originally posted by: WEWProblem is I installed the stock cooler with arctic compound on the CPU - the idle temp right now is like 54 C after 30 min of it just running sitting in BIOS - that seems real high -- so I took off the cooler - reapplied the thermal compound -- heard the clicks - still temp is around that -- I'm not sure what the problem is
