Approaching 4 months here. Two calls and countless e-mails, not to mention many posts on the Abit forums, have resulted in nothing. I keep hearing that the rebates will come, but I have lost faith in the process. I haven't called back in some time but it's manager time the next call.

That is just shameful. They deserve a big "SHAME ON ABIT" blog and loads of complaints and publicity.

If they are so innundated by the onerous chore of rebate processing as they would have us believe, there's a simple solution -- QUIT PLAYING THE REBATE GAME, AND JUST SELL THE PRODUCT FOR WHAT YOU INTEND THE CUSTOMER TO ACTUALLY PAY FOR IT, AND SAVE EVERYONE THE HASSLE!

More cynically (and truthfully) I think they're just trying to make a buck off the interest accrued on ill-gotten funds, and to profit further from never paying rebates that people forget about or which aren't able to followed up on by the submitter due to their unresponsiveness.

I look forward to the day when the rebate scam that *everyone* does is made effectively illegal by better consumer protection laws and more competitive retailers (and consumers) who just will not stand for it any longer.

interesting, I'm looking for a upgrade for my P4 system, but was considering the Gigabyte P35-DS3L. This may be a "less expensive" option. :D

Go for it. There's quite a strong following of people who love or at least respect this board, and for the price it isn't a bad deal considering how well it generally seems to work compared to the competitive more expensive options.

On the other hand, don't expect to get the rebate back before 4-5 months, apparently.

I bought my first from Newegg with the rebate, and the second for a family member from buy.com for 75 but no rebate... more expensive, but also no hassle with the rebate which is worth something in my time / stress. Your choice.

LINUX is working great with my other P35 chipset motherboards, so I think you shouldn't have much compatibility problems if/when you run it (judging from your nickname).

I suppose the BIOS generated ACPI tables' quality might be a question relevant to LINUX suspend/sleep (maybe it's fine, IDK yet, didn't try) but it is hard to find a motherboard by any vendor that totally gets that right.

Well, I guess I'm having better luck on Abit rebates. I have had 3 rebates in the past 6 months. One on IP35Pro, one on PCIe WiFi card and one on IP35E. The first two have been fulfilled, took a long time but they came back. The last one is in their system with mailing date sometime next month.

Newegg is pretty good in handling rebates. If Abit won't honor the rebates and you have all the proper documents, then Newegg will honor it.

I sent my rebate on October 4th last year and received the check December 17th. I wouldn't too worry about the rebate. I just sent another one in, and while it will take some time, I'm sure it will come.:)

4.5 months out still no rebate

Mailed the rebate the beginning of December and just got it this week.....

Funny thing is I decided I was going to have to force the issue so I went to check the status of the rebate and seen it was processed but never sent. A few days later is showed up.....Interesting....

honestly I wasn't even expecting an email from them..

I figured i'd have to keep track of it myself and hunt them down, but so far so good.

My HP Rebate came and the only outstanding rebate is the Abit :)

How's this board compared to the Gigabyte P35 DS3L?

And why does the Abit board require an 8 pin CPU ATX connector?

And what is that blue fan shaped heatsink near the CPU socket?

What FSB are people hitting with this?
