I know most of you in IT think you are gods and everyone else is a moron. And you know what? You're right. Most people don't know jack shvt about computers. But you have to be careful how you treat people, because you will encounter the guy in Accounting who not only follows technology but has access to ATOT for the shvt he doesn't know. So if you're in IT don't:
1) Tell me that 512mb (with 8 megs memory shared) is more than enough RAM when I see in my task manager Firefox alone takes up 250 megs, and who knows how much the rest take up (visio, 15 excel spreadsheets, outlook, word, IE, Windows Explorer, Trillian).
2) Tell my boss I need to close programs I'm not using because he's going to come back at you and tell you you're an idiot because he's using me to do fvcking a million things at once and I'm a multitasking robot and I can get all the RAM he wants.
3) Try to fvck me over by giving me a 256mb upgrade because now I'm going to ask for 1.5 gb just to spite your ass (originally asked for 1 gig).
4) But most of all don't fvck with the Senior Accountant who happens to be a tech geek who happened to do IT audit at his last job and is now going to audit all your purchasing only TO FIND OUT YOU'RE BUYING all your shvt from 2 vendors, ONE OF WHOM HAPPENS TO BE YOUR friend's company WHO HAPPENS to be charging up the a$$ because now that Accountant is going to get quotes from other vendors and tell YOUR boss and MY BOSS (the controller) that you're spending on average 25% more than you can get from other vendors and 40% more if you had switched to Dell.
So guys in IT, let this be a lesson, be nice to people because the 1% that knows his shvt can call you out and make you look like a fool.
Cliffs:
1) Don't be mean to the guy in Accounting because he will audit your purchasing and make you look like a fool.
Also for you asshats who will ask "wtf are you using firefox for you shouldn't surfing at work" and "you shouldn't be instant messgaing at work":
1) I work at an internet company and I do a lot of ad hoc research on the web when I'm not doing accounting.
2) IM is the primary source of communication for the company
