Does Cablevision include Time Warner? Castle is on tomorrow and I'd hate to have to find another way to get it.

like I said.

your average 40+ year-old probably has no clue what hulu is or how to download tv shows via
usenet
... my dad would be aghast at the idea of watching his tv shows while hunched over his laptop and I can't imagine trying to explain mythtv to my 83 year-old aunt.

Well, everything you get can be outputted to a TV as easy as watching a DVD. People need to start living in the 21st century.

No. Cablevision and TW are separate companies.

I remember this crap with CV years ago though when the Yankees started their YES network. CV putzed around for an entire year without carrying the channel - really pissed everyone in my house off and was just another nail in their coffin when FiOS finally came to our area.

is LOST that show on abc that contains the 1 hour of commercials with bits of interruptions in between?

Fuck abc/disney.

As always people complain about commercials 24/7, but if you've ever downloaded a TV show, they're always 42-43 minutes long. You can complain all you want, but every episode of 24, Lost, Heroes, whatever show you watch is about that long. Don't get it.

Who the hell cares about ABC? If it goes out of business, good riddance.

There's nothing on TV worth watching anyway. Bad acting (or worse, reality tv), terrible premises, interminable commercials. I don't understand how anyone smart enough to turn on a computer & post on an internet forum can be dumb enough to enjoy TV.

Tv is nothing compared to the benefits you must be enjoying thru your AARP membership.

I thoroughly enjoy many shows on HGTV, Food Network, TLC, Discovery and PBS.

PBS can be ok, but I recall them doing constant fundraisers. While I understand money doesn't grow on trees, watching adults beg isn't my thing.

The discovery family of channels used to be decent, but in a bid to attract more viewers they have seriously dumbed down their programming.

Alton Brown is the man, but I can watch him on Youtube.

And that's the top 0.1% of programming, the rest is utter drivel. I see absolutely no reason to not only watch something so vapid, and not only pay for it, but also have it interrupted constantly by advertisements as well.

And every day I have to hear these hairless apes make fun of WoW players. Well right back at you all ^_^

If ota networks go under, most people will lose a major source of news for their local area.
In that regard, local ota stations are important.

We almost lost CBS and FOX due to dispute - cable company didn't want to pay double to broadcast local channels.

Got this form cablevision:

Due to the disruption ABC has caused, Cablevision invites you to enjoy our entire slate of on demand movies at no charge today, Sunday March 7th. To order, go to the iO TV main menu, select On Demand, then Movies on Demand, then choose your movie.

too bad I didn't see it in the afternoon.

bah, the system is overloaded.
