<< Come now, no matter what you say GPA does help to get into college. Perfectionist would be you already got a shot into any college of your choosing no matter what your grades and you still strive for the A. The B instead of A is gonna screw up his GPA all of what, .1? Sorry too lazy to do the math here, but what if that .1 matters later on? I'm sure most of you had those close calls back in high school when it was like 89.5 or whatever, if you did well in that class and weren't an all around asshole wouldn't you be pissed off if the teacher didn't round? >>
How the .01 difference affects his/her GPA and chances at college depends on a lot of things, e.g. what year, grade point equivalence, high school "bias", etc so who knows? I'm not even talking about chances of college acceptance -- I'm dealing with the issue at hand, the one of him making up a thread to bitch/brag moan about how his teacher, a "b!tch" per his/her own words, won't give him/her the 0.01 points that he/she didn't earn but somehow feels obligated to.
And yeah, I had close calls like this but it dawned on me early on that if the numbers crunch correctly, guess what, that's a reflection of my own work and was an indication of what I need to do better the next quarter or semester. Never did I get pissed off at a teacher who didn't round.
