I received an 89.99% in english and she wont round up, any ways to talk her out of it? i have less than two hours to think up of a good argument

I think if a teacher is that much of an a$$ to give you that mark she is obviously trying to make a point. Suck it up princess. Sorry.

look at your syllabus and see what the grading scale is, if A is listed as 90+, then her scale only carried 2 signficant digits and she essentially has to round up to get 2 sig figs from your grade

only way i see she not rounding is if her scale explicitly carries 4 sig figs to 90.00

<< Become a man whore and pleasure her? >>

considering she weighs in at 230 pounds and at a height of 5'5", thats out of the question

If the syllabus she gave you to begin with stated something like 80-89 = B and 90-100 = A then you can argue that she never specified what an 89.9 is (89.9 > 89 but 89.9 < 90). Then again, she could simply specify at that moment that it's a B.

there you go

if that doesn't work talk to the principal or something

ILL TRY THAT!! THANKS!

If you turned in all your assigned work, and never missed a day of class, you can approach her with that. Kind of like you've earned a .01% break. If, however, you got 100% on everything you turned in, but simply slacked off on 10.01% of the assigned work (didn't bother to turn it in) and you skipped class because it was too easy for you, forget it.

also, are you sure you have an 89.99? it's hard to believe she being that anal

make sure that's your average first

Yup. You should have studied harder. Quit bitching about receiving the grade you earned! :|

amish

ARGGH, my grades for this semester are SOOO BAD

CHEM: IONO, probly a B+ :|
WRLD HIST: A
SPANISH: B
ENGLISH: B+ 89.99% b!tch wont round up
MATH: A
PE: A
SPEECH AND DEBATE: A

I would ask if there is any extra credit to get the measly .01 there has to be some little thing you can do for that small increment!

<< ask if there's some sort of 'extra' credit you can do to make 0.01 points? >>

"extra" hint hint...be her special friend

My mom was a pretty tough teacher, but even she would round that up! She'd give 89.5 and A, but 89.4999999 a B. If a kid complained, she'd just ask "Why didn't you have a 90 to begin with? That would have solved your problem."
