Kind of makes me want to root for the Vikings this season. ;)

LOL possibly. I was just in Dunhams Sporting Goods this weekend and all the old Favre stuff (Packers and Jets) was on super clearance. I made comment on it and the cashier said they considered just burning it all in the dumpster out back :)

I don't understand why people have so many problems with Favre. The guy still has a hell of an arm, but the qualification needs to be made that he must have a good o-line, decent receivers, and a good running game. Otherwise he feels like he needs to push the ball into difficult places to win the game.

I think the vikings are a decent fit for him.

BS. I have lived in Wisconsin all my life and while I always hope for wins against the Vikings, I will enjoy seeing Brett playing again. Yes, his retiring/not retiring is a bit annoying, but it was the MEDIA that made it a huge deal every year and talked about it constantly. IMHO, the majority of people I talk to hate Ted Thompson and do not mind that Brett is still playing.

I've lived here my entire life too. I can honestly say I see 100% opposite reaction. Everyone I know of and/or talk to about Favre-gate, including all local media (Milwaukee) push the blame and point the finger entirely at Favre.

I hope when the Packers and Vikings play Brett Favre plays well, but the packers still win.

One thing is for sure though, if i was at the game i would cheer as loud as i could when Favre was announced. He will always be my favorite football player.

Ugh. <-- Only thing that really needs to be said about this.

Perspective:
1) It's true, he's got more talent than the two current Vikes QB's combined. That's about the only plus I give him though.
2) Coming off an arm injury, and he is unsure of it. Dude, you've played too many seasons, let it go already.
3) Coaching job? Favre? Not ever going to happen - where's the glory and drama in that?
4) Pack fans... they still have love for him, but it's going to get really ugly if he goes to the Vikes.
5) He's doing it for the wrong reasons.

Most of this has already been said, but I figured I'd point it out. Sure, it could work, but if he'd just let it go and apply his talent as a sideline coach or something, he could potentially have a far better lasting impact with a team rather than be a shooting star fizzling out after a handful of games every year, coming back yet again to try to prove you're still as good as you once were.

I may have to buy a #4 Vikings jersey

P.S. I don't even like Brett Favre and I think he's a gigantic drama whore, but I'm a Vikes fan so I can't help but hope that he does well.

Ok, honestly, why do you people care or get upset that he's coming back? How does this hurt or affect you? Ruining his legacy? Come on, serious?? He's just doing what is in his heart and trying to squeeze a few more years out of his career. You have to think about how hard it would be to lose something you love and no be able to do it anymore. Football players careers are fairly short in the grand scheme of things. So let him enjoy another year or two and just root for your team and quit crying about something that doesn't affect you!

I love Favre is a QB, I am so sick of his "waaah will I or won't I" antics. This is what - the 5th straight offseason we've had to hear about it?

I think he did the math and realized that in 5 years Peyton will break all of his records.

People in Milwaukee are just angry all the time. :p

I am in Eau Claire, but we do have some people who absolutely hate him now. I do not understand it because the Packers made it clear that they did not want him anymore.

I'm excited for him to be playing for Min this year.

If the superbowl can't go to the Colts, Go Vikes!

Sadly it's the most interesting sports story out there..at least to people who don't care about baseball.

He will do better than the two options we have now...
