I get about 4 hours with just using browser on hp recommended balance mode. Battery is okay could be better but for 300$ I honestly didn't care lol.

I exchanged my HP Pavillion 17 (AMD A8-4500m apu w/ Radeon HD 7640G) for this. Although it seems that its memory (RAM) is not expandable. Also, I can't get the AMD Gaming Evolved to work properly, says it can't detect the hardware.

It's pretty laggy too and I can't run the sensor on Aida64 without rebooting. Clicking the sensor button there automatically reboots the system.

Does anyone know a solution?

Would that Toshiba be as reliable as the HP? I like how the Toshiba's keys touch each other. I can't type on chicklet style keys like the HP has. Do Toshiba's still have wireless issues?

Also, I know it says not released yet, and costs more, but how would this Acer Aspire E5-551-86R8 with A8-7100 compare? It's 1.8Ghz with turbo up to 3Ghz.

a8-7100 uses 256 gcn cores vs 128 in all beema skus. the a8-8410 beema may have better MT perf but should be less in ST and GPU perf.

"The Radeon R5 (Kaveri) GPU of the A8-7100 features a core clock of up to 514 MHz and 256 shader units. Since the GPU is based on AMD's GCN 1.1 architecture, both DirectX 11.2 "Tier 2" and Mantle are supported. Furthermore, the GPU can be used for general purpose computing in various applications, such as Adobe Photoshop via the OpenCL API.

In terms of 3D performance, the GPU should be roughly as fast as a dedicated GeForce 710M and can handle many current games at low settings."

^ I guess you're replying to me?

Also the Acer I linked has a 6 cell (though higher TDP), while the HP has a 3 cell and toshiba a 4 cell. The Acer does have a chicklet keyboard, but oh well. Any idea when it will be released?

Possibly new info, it seems the a8-6410 might not beema apu after all if the chart is correct!
http://www.cpu-world.com/news_2014/2014072402_Specifications_of_AMD_A8-6410_APU.html

Amd website claims that it might have 256 shades, it also claims it doesn't have trust zone stuff.

So this might be good new...

It's Beema, however I do not completely understand the idea of GPU with 256 SP combined with single channel MC - it would be seriously limited by memory bandwith as top Kaveri models.

How would the A8-7100 compare to the Intel Core i3-4010U in single/dual core speeds? The A8-7100 isn't listed on cpubenchmark.net.
This HP with Intel Core i3-4010U is only $330.

Well the Core i3-4010U doesnt have turbo so it always operates at 1.7GHz. The A10-7100 has a turbo up to 3GHz and base at 1.8GHz. Depending on the application they should be very close in single thread performance.

If you're looking for Kaveri in a laptop then it's the A10 7300 (and FX 7400 and 7600 in the coming months), the A6 6310 and A8 6410 aren't worth getting over something like an A8 5350M or A10 5750M.

Isn't the R5 M230 somewhat equiv to the Nvidia 840M?

Microcenter had a picture of a laptop with the A10 7300 at a good price, and said "coming soon", but the link was dead, so I don't really know if/when it will be available. I think the price was less than 500.00 which seems reasonable. I want to see some more benchmarks as well, but this could be one of the best fits for kaveri.

There's already A10 7300 laptop's out, I played with one, Future Shop and Bestbuy.ca has them for $570 (sale) to $650. It doesn't perform as nicely as the A10 5750M, I'm waiting to see what the FX 7400 and 7600 will be like.

Hi guys I wrote a review on the high end beema laptop HP is making:
http://www.overclock.net/products/hp-pavilion-15-p053nd-a8-6410-fhd-41wh/reviews/6826

Hope you enjoy and for any questions you can ask them (preferably on the review page)

Thanks for review with HP 15 A8-6410, will wait for update benchmarks with graphics R7 m260. Youtube user with HP 17z A8-6410 and R7 m260 put up video last week with Battlefield 4 running 1600 x 900 medium.

Europe sellers like Misco also showing HP 15 A8-6410, R7 m260, 12 GB DDR3, 1920x1080, HD+8GBSSD for Euro 495. That looks like big discount!
