I bet he set the multiplier so that it hit 3.0ghz, then his comp died. He was so sad that he repressed his memory of the event and now thinks it is running a 3.0ghz.:thumbsup:

Sorry for not coming back to you guys with a 32m PI.

I've been waiting on some OCZ EL PC4800 for a few days to see if i can get some tighter timings.

Now i've got it, i'm back in business and will be stickign up some more screenies.

I tell ya now tho....its 6hr Counter Strike stable 😉

So are you saying it's not Prime stable?

Why don't you post some screens now?

Because i'm at work.....is that a good enough reason?

And i havn't tried it on a 32m PI or Extended Prime yet, but its S&M stable.

Regarding one of the first posts (mine) in this topic, to which you replied that the difference between 270 and 300 MHz is negligable, my answer is yes. If that 30 MHz drop in memory can give you another 100 ~ 200 MHz bump in CPU overclocking, it'll definately give you better performance.

Long day at work?

Why can you post the information here? At least the numbers this way if someone wants to they can register at the other site to see the pictures.

I agree you should use dividers. Memory performance will be lower, but overall system performance won't budge. Remember A64 is not bandwith starved; Should you use a divider, you may be able to get higher clock frequencies.

At current stock Athlon 64 speeds, memory bandwidth is not a problem.
The lower latency afforded by its integrated memory controller actually reduces the need for high bandwidth.
However, as clock speeds increase, so will the Athlon's bandwidth requirements.
If it can't get enough data, pipeline bubbles will start appearing.
This is why AMD is making the transition to DDR2, despite the higher latencies of this memory.

Dry Ice. Too exotic cooling for me. Not even sure where someone would get dry ice.

Dont even think about LN. Liquid Nitrogen. Those guys are nuts.
