would everyone reproduce asexually?
I'm assuming the OP is from the basis that gender is a social construct, and the social differences between male/female are taught rather than originating from a real biological need.
If he means that everyone is of the same sex, then I don't know...
I guess it would be one less type of variety which, in my mind, is bad.
Well personally I find there is a distinct difference in the way females and males act in a large amount of situations. So I still don't understand this thread.

No,I'm not assuming that.
I'm just keeping aside the science of it(let's say, we could reproduce & genetic variation would occur even without the existence of gender).
Basically I'm just thinking about a world without all the problems, the existence of two genders(and sexual attraction) brings in.
(Well,if all you're bothered about is orgasms,I guess the 'feeling' of an orgasm could be replicated artificially. It's just a feeling.Something your brain perceives.)
that's the point of sexual reproduction.Basically I'm just thinking about a world without all the problems, the existence of two genders(and sexual attraction) brings in.

Sounds like more of the radical womens vagenda(thanks, walter).
Sexual reproduction has its advantages such as repairing genetic defects and promoting genetic diversity within the species.
While many aspects of gender are taught, what is wrong with that? Many behaviors related to gender/sex are taught in other species and there is nothing non-natural about that. It helps ensure their survival. Some differences manifest themselves without being taught and do lead to differences in parent/child interaction. The ability to produce milk is a major one.
Besides, if we were completely asexual, we'd have to have a different reproductive system. Who here (male or female) would prefer to have a multipurpose cloaca?
