apparently he does 😉 but if you did you'd find yourself doin the same thing too.

Damn, if I ever had a warrent issued for my arrest I'd at least want it to be for something good. So when your kids ask you why you went to jail you don't have to say "Well, I didn't change my headlight bulb in time and next thing you know the federalies are knocking down my door"

LOL!!!

The Sacramento County superior court can suck my balls. The fvcking headlight on my car burned out, and they didn't get my notice of correction in the mail until a couple days after they wanted it. Big fvcking deal, the officer that signed the damn thing signed it in time, it's not like it wasn't fixed. They want to arrest me for having a god damned burned out light bulb?

This sh!t makes me want to set fire to city hall. At least I'd have a legitimate reason to have a warrant issued for my arrest.

OOh, or I can pay them $124 and send them the damn thing that I got the cop to sign AGAIN. Fvcking bullsh!t. I owe them $124 for what? For the privilege of replacing my own light bulb?

I'm fully expecting the "well, you should have sent it in on time" replies. Yeah, you're right, I should have. And they should cut me some god damned slack. The god damned light is fixed, that's supposed to be the point, right? If that's the point, then things should be done, right? Any excuse to tax me out of an extra $124.

Hopefully you will not express your feelings on this to the judge....

Over a $124 fine? You have got to be kidding me. The lawyer would charge twice that just for a phone conversation.

my lawyer don't charge me for just talk or simple documents tha take him 15 to do.

Most reputable lawyers will talk to you for a few minutes to briefly explain your options (real options, not bogus ones) at no cost.

if you think this is bad then you have no idea!!!

I once had to pay a $90 squealing tires ticket when it wasn't
me who did it. It was the car in front of mine and the cop singled
me out. I even had a witness but still COP won and I lost $90
in the end.

i thought you got carjacked

Yeah, but not till after the headlight was fixed. I just the notice saying that my proof of correction was late and they want another $124 in the mail.
Is it possibly postmarked before the due date, or is it really late?
With the way the County budgets have been hacked by the deficit, they will be ruthless with revenue collecting. That really sux man.

I think the letter has to be postmarked by the due date. Also, if the officer signed before te due date, that adds even more to your case.

Unless there was a clause on the original notice that you sent that said it must be recieved by a certain date, this situation is a complete mistake on the county's part.

Pay the fine, if you go in & they don't buy the "It was late becasue of the holiday mail." you'll pay the orig fine & court costs too🙁

There was a famous old Vaudville gig, whit the line "Pay the man the $2." Guy kept saying it about about a parking ticket, lawyer kept ignoring him & fighting the ticket till the court system threw him in jail.

You should have paid the ticket

But seriously, that is silly arresting somebody over that. In Nova Scotia (not sure if this is still the case, because there was talk of fixing it), if you didn't pay parking tickets it really didn't matter. I was once in a guy's car and his glove compartment was full of unopened requests for payment. He owed like $1k. No consequences if he didn't pay. I think they were going to make it impossible to register a vehicle or renew license for those who had outstanding tickets, but needless to say they were not wasting time arresting people over it.

i got warrents.

allways have em for one reason or another. i just dont like to goto court when they tell me to

just dont get pulled over on a friday. in my state anyways, you sit in jail till you can see a judge on monday, no bail!

How many days did they give you in the first place? If it was over a week and you weren't on vacation, you have no excuse.

the officer that signed the damn thing signed it in time

That should be the important part. And FFS, can't they show a little compassion? "Well, thank you for filing the theft report, Mr. NotFred. We'll have all officers keep an eye out for your vehicle. Now, your fixit ticket is overdue. Fork over the dough or we'll arrest you."

WTF, bust the guy who jacked the car and slap it on his toll. 😛

Post a sound clip if you do decide to tell the judge to suck your balls.

I'd go to court and explain the circumstances that you've been through (stolen/gutted car) and see if maybe they'll reduce the fine (that is if they don't see that it was their mistake that caused you to be late in the first place). If they won't have people start selling the "Free NotFred" tshirts.
