Wow, moonbeam. Your worst post ever. I gotta give you not one  , but two   for that load of crap.

Instead of thumbs you should give me logical argument. At least Bober offered some opposition. Of course his notion that people should deal with advertisement is silly because advertisement is the science of bypassing reason. The notion that people have freewill is absurd. It is obvious even reading these threads that only a few people can reason even on the most elementary levels. As long as humanity is unaware of what they really feel they can be manipulated. Your notion of freedom is that everybody should have the absolute freedom to manipulate anybody they can so long as the true fact of that manipulation remains largely out of the consciousness of most people. It's is just fine with you that con artists and the cunning make a killing off sleeping sheep. Well, in fact sir, you are supporting the worst kind of evil. You in fact swing from a tree.

You are so consumed by the notion that somebody will have the capacity to force you to do what you don't want to do, like take care of your fellow man that you expose yourself and the world to exactly that fate. You live in a world where even your intelligence and capacity to reason have been bought and paid for. Yours is the philosophy of the sheep under the command and control of wolves. You are what you most fear.

actually it had more to do with nclb and generally tighter budgets.

in highschool we were mandated to take 3 semesters of p-e, it shoulc have been 4 but p-e isn't worth the funds etc i guess

Taco Bell has an advertising campaign about 'The Fourth Meal' to advertise their late night hours.

if it weren't for etiquette, the campaign would probably be called drunk meal. I don't know why cops don't just patrol taco-bells thursday-saturday and collect all the drunken minors.

A healthier public should bring health costs down. Has either candidate talked about trying to make health care cheaper for all by encouraging the public to be healthier?

Encouraging the public to be healthier is something that is a cultural change, not necessarily something government can start on their own. I agree the government can help any change already happening, but I think by and large that the change will have to come from americans themselves. Unfortunately food is culturally driven and the consumptions habits will not likely differ greatly simply because our leader decides we should...

Prison with and forced exercise and diet are the order of the day. Fat people what to be saved.

And when the radio collar around the neck gets too tight, it's back to prison.

Hey, we make people wear seat belts and keep them from smoking pot. Why not protect them from themselves by banning any and all food that could make someone unhealthy. If you don't support such measures, I must question your morality.

That's a pretty dumb comparison.

If they ban junk food that means I might do jail time because I wanted some Nacho Cheese Dorritos. And yes if it somehow happened I would kill somebody for a can of Pringles...

Well, his comments in another thread were quite relevant to my reply. *shrug*

Fat people are the repository of our most successful genes right up till about yesterday and may again be tomorrows winners.

Yes, he was referring to me saying Bober is not applying morality by being a father and riding a motorcycle without a helmet. It seems some kind of divine knowledge is required to divine these things. The visionary revelation that a good live parent is better for a child than a good dead one seems to make me some sort of morality god. If having some fucking common sense makes me a god then I guess I am.

By the way, Bober, we did just go round about this and I won. 🙂

You think you won, but really it's just the manifestation of your self-hate that won't allow you to see that you lost.

I think we need to start with the parents;

I have seen 8-10 year olds in my town that already weigh as much as an average adult it is pathetic. I am disgusted when I see this, not at the child, but at the parents!
It really should been seen as a form of child abuse and treated as such; they need to be heavily fined, forced to put the child on a healthy diet, if they fail then they should serve jail time like any other child abuser, even have the child removed from their custody if need be.

If we force parents to stop letting their kids eat all they want, any time they want and make them serve healthy food in moderation that mindset and conditioning should start passing from generation to generation laying the ground work for healthy, fit kids and adults in the future.

I am glad I am not the only one who gets pissed off when I see commercials trying to make you want to be something or do something through very manipulative means. This thing is embedded in our culture. The "have to have it" or "you need to get this or else you are a loser" type crap. That whole competitive materialistic bs. However, if you and I are able to reason that the commercials are BS, then it really isn't bypassing reason, is it? It is a matter of being self-aware and conscious of thought processes, which includes being conscious of ideas being put into one's head via media or anything else. As soon as one is conscious of it, then one can combat it. That is the real issue I suppose. I don't think that eliminating manipulative advertising would necessarily help against obesity in America as obesity tends to be related to psychological issues. It could help a little I suppose. But I don't think that is a good idea as people need to be responsible for themselves, even if it takes the effort of being aware of what crap is being shovelled into their minds.

Internet, alcohol and sleep tied to girls' weight
Reseachers followed more than 5,000 girls between 14 and 21 years old</a>

NEW YORK - Girls and young women who devote much time to the Internet, get too little sleep or regularly drink alcohol are more likely than their peers to put on excess weight, a new study suggests.

The researchers, who followed more than 5,000 girls between 14 and 21 years old for 1 year, found that the more spare time girls spent on the Internet, the more their body mass index (BMI) increased.

Similar patterns were seen when the researchers looked at alcohol consumption and sleep. In the latter case, lack of sleep was linked to greater gains in BMI ? a measure of weight in relation to height.

Sit your ass down and work at that monitor for 12 hours a day and don't get up.

Oh, and lose weight!

It's not just individual choice, but we don't put a hand to a plow, because there aren't any. We're the same creatures as we were 100k years ago from a metabolic standpoint. We can't fly or fight, and we have cortisol pumping through us all the time with not enough sleep. Sure, people eat too many calories, but we haven't changed over 50 years. It's our surrounding which have. Not good from a health care standpoint.

As stated earlier, we need to get rid of these stupid sugar quotas, which serve NO purpose other than to make sugar more expensive, and get off the high-fructose corn syrup.

If you are a smoker many health insurance plans through where you work will increase your monthly payments....if you weigh 600 pounds they don't care. Tell me why that makes sense?
