A true sign that this forum is balanced....

You've got to be kidding if you think that this board is anywhere near balanced. Look at that poll for who people voted for. It was more than 2 to 1 in favor of Kerry (at least last time I looked at it). Also, look on the front page. For every one post about is good about Bush, there are at least 2 that are against Bush. This board is very liberal.

Yep, this board is frequented by a lot of folks that are in the know of the behind the scenes that makes computers work. The rest just know to turn it on a click.

Which ones can think for themselves and not Religiously Brainwashed is easy to tell.

So, do you know how a phanastron oscillator works? Have you ever seen a drum storage unit? Knowing computers isn't simply knowing what to click next or how to script VB or how to break the mirror on a RAID system. Can you repair a multi level board? Determine logical vs physical CCHH? You did open this by framing yourself as a behind the scenes kind of computer guy.

Absolutely on every one of the above. You obviously have no idea who I am.

I don't recognize the phanastron variation of an oscillator probably because it is older than the 555 chip but I have worked with a ton of variations of Oscillators across many different designs from UHF/Microwave Transmitters and Recievers to Dial Up Modems to DSL Modems.

I am just old enough to have run across the old IBM Mainframe drives but young enough to fortunately not had to work with them. My work experience started right at the time of the Personal PC stating with a Timex Sinclair 1000 Kit I put together on the workbench in summer 1982.

I have designed 5 & 6 layer boards. Again with the old Mainframe storage. OK so you're obviously an old timer. So??? What's your point??? Can you do more with a PC other than turn it on and click???

I voted for Kerry and I know how to turn on my computer and that's about it. It's a tool for me to get information so I'm decent w/software but when it comes to the inner workings of what's inside the box, I'm totally clueless.

There goes another silly over-generalization by the right

I suspected a Bush win was in the making, look @ the responses in this thread:

This forum is as fair & balanced as Pee Wee & Rosie on a teeter totter.:disgust:

Would we have it any other way than unbalanced? Of course, I define unbalanced in the broadest terms possible....

Sort of like arsenic and water.
Ok, so If half the population is arsenic, should we just bar them from voting?

No we're supposed to make arsenic laced water and drink it.
