You're misunderstanding, that's his fix for over population, Fuck the earth, reset.

There's no reason to believe that humans are immune from extinction but I was hoping that my children could see their grandkids without knowing they were doomed. If it's not to be then that's how it must be.

Every cloud has a silver lining and the silver lining is that Hillary lost.

Sometimes there isn't a free lunch. We've ripped millions (billions?) of tons of CO2 out of the planet's crust and freed it into the atmosphere. It took the earth millions of years to sequester that, and we've re-released it in about 300. Really really hard to shove that particular genie back in the bottle.

I understand it wont be easy. But if we have the opportunity\technology. It seems to me it is an option. We have to admit even if we reduce emissions. It is not reducing PPM in the atmosphere. We have to start pulling it out to actually reduce CO2 PPM.

Slightly off topic but related... does anyone know the cradle to grave cost of using lithium for batteries? It is a highly reactive element, I imagine it takes a fair amount of energy to free it from ore. To recycle or dispose of properly probably takes some power too, and I imagine is a safety concern given its reactiveness.

What's fun is watching conservatives, many of them religious believers, totally deny fucking the planet that their god supposedly gave them dominion over. Good times here at planet earth

Look at it this way. If things continue as they are then you may suffocate to death if you are young enough. If that's the case you can let go of both Hillary and Trump.

I'd be careful about this path you are on. You might be forced to admit Gore was right.

It completely goes against the concept of stewardship. God wouldn't have given us the world just to screw each other and eventually the species for a buck, but that's just what they are hellbent on doing.

If there are beings visiting us it may be that they are watching a civilization entering a technological stage created by a species too stupid to survive. Galactic popcorn all around.

It's not really a problem, because they're actively looking forward to the end of the world so the rapture can happen. Who cares about 2100 when they're going poof any day now?

Well, if it is "fully insulated" then you get a guilt pass. Preach it though.

Hows that in quotes? Lol, I'm assuming your dispensing with your electronics and living in the wild while shit posting here.

You're a disingenuous poster at best. But don't worry, maybe you can find a way to heat your home with guns.

Meanwhile, climate change leaders increased the jet traffic on the private runway at SFO over 30% than normal during their conference last month so their 4,000 attendees could discuss how to reduce carbon emissions. The airport was flooded with private jets.

If there was only way they could communicate with others around the world in a more environmentally friendly way....or just fly in a regular airline like the normal people would have been probably made a significant difference than flying a private jet...

Even funnier, a green-friendly shuttle was made available to the attendees to get around San Francisco but they chose to use their own limos instead...

Well aren't you the hero, you put some arbitrary comfort level ever so slightly lower than the average. Carry on having to sacrifice so much for humanity, having to wear long sleeves in the winter and turning off your PC (I turn mine off too, but that's only to save pump life). Preach it on the internet.

No, don't have to. I'm sure they are significantly higher in the third world. I'm also sure someone in American (or other first world citizen) uses comparatively a lot more resources than someone in the third world.

You are correct on both accounts. 1st world birth rates are at replacement or below. So what do you suppose would happen to third world birth rates if their quality of living was no longer third world?

Now do you think it’s possible for them to improve their quality of living without using as much resources as first worlders had to?
