No, but you have to look at the context in which it happened. Saddam Hussein was not known to be a ruthless dictator. Remember that this all comes back to corruption; many in the US administrations have ties to the companies that produce weapons. It is in their interest to sell them to other countries so that they can make money.

Besides, the US sold them chemical agents that aren't necessarily used to make chemical weapons.

What do you think of Canada allowing donations to Hezbollah (sorry can't spell it) up until a few months ago?

I really don't see much point in making these inflammatory statements about the Americans. It's bad enough that Canada isn't backing them in this war. Comments like that are like rubbing salt in the wounds. Remember, they would be there for us.

Im just asking everyone to see this war from both sides of the glass...

As I am. I still feel its just however war does not solve everything. Americans have to agree this is partly their fault and their international policies which caused this especially dealing with the middle east.

umm...wasn't it found in a police station?

And wasn't it meant to torture criminals? (not that that makes it right)

CNN=propaganda...I'm glad I don't get it.

If you get CSPAN/CBC, you'll see some pretty unbiased stuff.

yup, that was my bad, forget that stuff is everywhere over there......

like that $$$ story?

Iraq gave France and russia about 2 billion each in the food for oil program, from 1996-2000, from 2000-2002 the bulk of the Saddam controlled money wentr to Syria, Egypt, and Jordan, tried to buy a few local allies in the end. Does this answer those questions about why Syria would act in their behalf? Interestingly enough the BILLIONS of dollars in the account are earning some cash for a French Bank.....hhhmmm

You DO realize that SARS has killed 6 people in Canada and flu kills 1500 annually, right? You DO know that only about 3% of those infected die, right? And that those 3% are people who are already physically weak?

thats were it is at NOw, when the outbreak occured the numbers were hardly as low.
We are lucky it is relatively close to the common cold and we have medicines that can at least help.
The russians were reportedly working on an airborne version of Ebola, would that change your mind? Yes, it would, but the point is IT'S TOO LATE AT THAT POINT.

Honestly, is there a point to this thread, or did you just want a place for your incoherent ramblings? I can't remember the last time I saw so much crap and speculation all in one thread.

My posts are anti US Im just saying if you go after one you have to go after them all. Which is just going to keep completing the circle. Where middle east countries will continue to hate Americans due to this...

I believe the best method would be to concentrate on homeland security at home not aboard and pull all troops out of mid east countries.

That is funny to me because niether of these countries has a rocket that could get the nuclear warhead to US soil. So that theory is out of the question.

It pisses me off that so many countries hate the US until they need assistance. If I were in any government that is not supporting this war, I would not bank on the AMERICANS being there if I needed help.

Just a thought.

At least we find out who our real friends are.

Pfft...as if the US would support us if we unilaterally (or bilaterally...whatever) decided to go and attack someone of our choosing. It's not like Canada is in any real danger militarily anyways. We don't go around attacking everyone we don't like.

In light of the terrorist camp that was destroyed and the SARS epidemic, has your perspective changed about this war?

Americas main fear is the release of WMD on US mainland, for obvious reasons. With the outbreak of SARS, coming into the US from Canada, you see the same effect a bio attack on the US would have on your country as well. While we may be the intended victim, a weapon such as this would not respect your differing political viewpoint or geographic border.

Can you at least understand our legitimate fear of terrorists attacks? Our unwillingness to allow them to do this with a potentially globally catastrophic effect is our driving force in toppling Saddam. He has WMD, has shown no inhibiton in using them, and I for one have no trouble believing he would suplpy ANYONE that would be willing to unleash them on US soil. Now that his ties to terrorism are beyond doubt this conclusion is quite logical and more than possible. To those that ask what if no WMD are found, I would say they had probably already been given to those who would use them against those Saddam would like to, but can't.

I look forward to hearing your responses, please keep them flame free and rational.....

This is a continuation of the thread I made yesterday which some forum members mistakenly labeled an april fools joke... Next time read the original post before you make judgement.

Well I am not Canadian, but what the heck.

Saddam MAY have WMDs
He has NOT attacked anyone outside of his country since 91
Where are the connections to terrorists? Now that there is war, some are fighting, but Bin Laden called for terrorists to support Iraqis IN SPITE of Saddam.
Now that Saddam has nothing to lose, he may (if he has them) be very willing to use chemical/biological weapons against the us. Bush provided the perfect circumstance and motivation. Way to go.

Fear is driving the US to this. Fear, arrogance, and stupidity. The more I see, the worse it is.

Are you actually serious about the "friends" part? Do you honestly think politics is about friendship and not common interests?

Youre PARANOID, a large scale terrorist attack on American soil? Bah

"Saddam MAY have WMDs

He does have them, he admitted as much himself.
He has attacked Kuwait with over 50 BANNED missilles in the last two weeks.
The TERRORIST TRAINING camp and the death squad camp are pretty good indications of terrorist activity. Then there are the Iraqi "Diplomats" that have been arrested due to making plans of terrorist attacks against US interests.

Sorry my "incoherent" rambling of FACT has you so confused Marty, I will try to bring it down to a level you can understand....;)
