Just because the Half Life 2 thread has been so crapped up and crapped up so fast, I've decided to post this here because the chances of it being read in that thread seems far too low (because I doubt everyone reads every single post in such a long thread).
All I want to do is put down some of the overly hyper ATI users who are now practically cheering (yes cheering) for a business company with the goal to earn money from people like you.
Now don't get me wrong, I'm an ATI user as well and could not be happier with the performance I could have expected from my 8500 and I've yet to upgrade from it.
The only thing that really irks me is reading all the posts from ignorant ATI users who now seem to be celebrating as if they've won the lottery and narrowly escaped death all at the same time and then instead of merely just praising ATI for a job well done, they feel a need to attack nVidia. WTF for? Chances are they may end up back on top and you'll just have to switch sides again if you wish to have the best performance.
I'd just rather not have all these ATI hypocrites posting here if they can't even remember incidents such as THIS where their own beloved company was seemingly down and out and recovery appeared to be the impossible. Well if you review that article (an article from the very anandtech.com many of the ignorant now use to attack nVidia) you?ll see how down and out ATI seemed to be and yet they pulled out a miracle of their own, why cannot nVidia do the same today?
Again all I say is give these players some time because people demand far too much of the impossible merely to be ?satisfied?, my next card very well may be an ATI (and I?ve been planning on upgrading to a new ATI for quite a while) but this does not mean that nVidia has been defeated once and for all, I expect them to continue on and even to succeed in some terms in the long run.
