QFT, plus as IPv6 rolls out many devices will begin being connected that normally won't. The 'cloud' can turn dumb devices into very smart ones.
I can see it now. Fridge is on the network, you're watching the tv, all of a sudden a message pops up: "Don't forget milk and eggs, almost gone"
gaah!!
"Have you considered trying Egg Beaters Southwestern Style egg substitute? All of the fun of eggs and the amazing awesomeness of real onions and peppers! ZERO cholesterol and zero fat!!!"I can see it now. Fridge is on the network, you're watching the tv, all of a sudden a message pops up: "Don't forget milk and eggs, almost gone"
gaah!!
*shakes fist*Except the message will be:
Don't forget to get in your brand new Kia Placenta and motor on down to your local Shop 'n Slave for a conflict free carton of Ovoid Eggs and a wet and wild half gallon of Mama Mammary's Mixed Mammal Milk!
"If it's got a teat, Sweet!"

Think about the simple door lock you will buy with a camera inside, a wireless chip and just a servo.
You approach the door and it uploads your face to the cloud.
Your Fridge will be screaming inside an empty home for weeks.
