They said the jobs reports was great; but the mere mention by some that further improvement is still needed gets your panties in a bunch. Even though it's fucking true! You're insane.
Moonie's so busy patting himself on the back for his imagined mental superiority that he has no time for anything deeper. Shame.

It's worth pointing out that this "really excellent jobs report" under Obama would have been a middling jobs report under Reagan, with a 28% smaller working age population and diametrically opposed policies. I've pointed out why I don't blame Obama and I agree that this is excellent news given the historical weakness of the recovery, but certainly we can and should improve. Hopefully the improvement will continue.

No, this would have been a good jobs report under Reagan as well even after accounting for differences in population. What I always found funny is that Reagan's job growth rate was considerably lower than Carter's and the right thinks Carter was an economic disaster.

Presidents get too much credit for the economy and likewise too much blame for it. The main thing Obama did to help the economy was stop other people from doing something stupid like austerity.

From Unokitty's link, the average monthly increase in jobs during the first six years of the Reagan recovery was 252,000. Average is pretty much middling - not especially good or bad in and of itself.

What made this report so good wasn't just the headline number but that revisions to previous months added around 150,000 jobs onto their totals as well. So really we're looking at a report that posted about 400,000 more jobs than we thought we had last month. That's a good jobs report in any era.

He is just really really angry that liberal economic policies turned out to be right. The more evidence he sees, the angrier he gets.

Yeah, really angry that the policies you favor led to historic drubbings for your side in Congress in multiple elections running. And that you still think five years after the stimulus ended that it can be credited for the jobs number today. This is why I don't even bother to discuss economics with you and just let the electorate curb stompings you get do the work for me of ridding the country of your foolishness even though we'll be stuck paying off the additional trillions in debt that you stupidly accrued.

Ah, with that stipulation I'd agree.

You talking about the drubbing Mitch gave to Barack? When Dems make significant gains in the Senate in 2016 will that be a repudiation of GOP policies as well?

Multiple elections running? Did 2012 get thrown down the memory hole already?

The pure rage coming out of your post is about 50% funny and 50% scary.

If you ever decide to look at the math you'll see that liberals were right. Wouldn't the right thing be for you to thank liberals for saving you from your own bad economic ideas?

No you are just blind. We have a bunch of folk from the CBD party who have done all they can to prevent Obama from gaining any credit for recovery from the disaster of the Bush years, decrying every action the democrats take, and when the news becomes overwhelming that real progress is being made, suddenly it's well this news is good, but there's still all this progress that has to be made. That you are blind to the real intent here, to me is truly amazing. But as I said, it shouldn't surprise me, because you are a conservative and the inability to address unflattering ego realities goes along with that hand in hand. Every one of those childish but but buts was politically motivated and had a conscious aim to downplay Obama credit.

By the way, my panties aren't in a bunch, yours are, so much so you can't face reality. Republicans have one main solution to economic problems and it's tax cuts for the rich.

He doesn't have economic ideas, he has a religious faith.

Yes, thanks for helping people like me do really well. It's good to be one of the people he cares about and actually helps instead of the proles. Record inequality, subsidies out the wazoo making our investments prosper, regulations which only serve to entrench the biggest companies - who needs Republicans when we have Obama on our side? And the best part is the lining of my pockets will be paid for by the Democratic "base," that is if they have any jobs left after we finish remaining outsourcing.

"While those at the top are doing better than ever, average wages have barely budged. Too many Americans are working harder than ever just to get by, let alone get ahead.” Whoo, glad he's not talking about us.

It's funny that you are so overcome with rage about someone who you're now claiming has been on your side all along. It seems like you're just raging incoherently at this point.

I hope you realize that nothing you say makes me even the slightest bit angry so all this childish flailing is being wasted.

Well, the best part of being a conservative is the cognitive dissonance. Say whatever you believe right now, and everything else you have ever thought can be turned off until needed.

On even days, Obama is a raging communist.

On odd days, Obama only cares about the rich and the banks.

No cognitive dissonance found. Communists always care only about the rich and powerful (once they've made the right people rich and powerful anyway) since anyone who cared about ordinary people would never inflict communism on them.

So, Obama's a commie. Unlike Republicans, who never, ever help the rich and powerful out.

Or are Republicans commies too?

It's so hard keeping track of who is and isn't a communist this week.

Communists love to pick the winners and losers.

It is pretty hard to keep track of the ever changing (but always darkly conspiratorial) descriptions of Obama.

Good news, that went up .2% also, which for a single report is a lot. Another thing to be happy about, right?

I'll be happy when everyone who wants a job has one.

Related: my county just dipped to 3% unemployment.

Follow the actual conversation. Also note the question mark in what you quoted from me, in context of what I said that was quoted.

Context is fun!

Not likely in our lifetime; well, never has happened over here.

Well, you know, USSR did have 100% employment. :\
