Perspective from an actual south asian american for those who are interested.
Actually a fair bit of asian americans are pro-trump. In the high skilled immigrant community, there's a perception that the Dem parties have always prioritized illegals employment and legalization over the very real problems that legal immigrants face.
For example, children of illegals can get an unlimited, work-anywhere-EAD, no-hassle travel and in-state tuition while children of legal immigrants waiting for a green card have to get work and student visas, and may not be eligible for in-state tuition. There's a risk of the student or work visas being rejected at consulates abroad which means they can't stay in the US anymore, despite spending most of their formative years. D's don't care about our children, factors such as "family separation" etc are reserved exclusively for the illegals. We depend on the goodwill of USCIS to help us our, not any of the D congressmen or "Hope and Change" Obama.
This double standard is infuriating, and no dem administration did anything about it despite various appeals. As it stands, it's actually better to be illegal for DACA, even worse if extended DACA/DAPA passed. So there's a lot of cheering for Trump - even if Sessions is around, the perception is that both the illegals and legals are screwed and not just the legals. At least with Trump and sessions, we know what to expect, instead of D's and Obama who screw you when you trust them.
As for racism, honestly even in pre-Trump america we have always experienced some level of hostility from various people, so most of my kindred have accepted that as a price to pay for living and working in the USA. We don't deal with this on a daily basis, and the main difference is that now the racists are using Trump as a part of their slurs. Meh.
As Bannon said, 2/3 CEOs are asian americans. I doubt Trump or Sessions or KKK or NumbersUSA can do anything to change that, and I'm confident that the rest of America won't let that happen either.
If things do change, we'll survive and persevere as we always have. The odds mean nothing to us because probably of all peoples in the US, we believe closest to the American ideals - that (smart) hard work, education, perseverance, sacrifice and family are enough to get you success... no matter what the haters say.
Our forefathers were crushed under the heels of various ethnicities - white people, asians, even our own country men. As a community, we've always emerged prosperous. So while this girl's experience is vile, I don't believe that things have fundamentally changed. We'll see in a year or so.
House slave talk.
Despite how loudly the monkeys may be screaming and thrashing, it really was just a gentle and non-harmful poke.![]()
That's a pretty accurate description of the usual bitch/sjw this and that posts your lot's limited to. What's interesting is that unlike svnla, I don't think you're too dumb to see this.
