funny thing - i was talking to one of my teachers about aerodynamics, and despite the fact that NASCAR races typically go in ovals (there are 2 road courses, in fact), getting the right aerodynamic effects on your car is incredibly important in winning the race and requires a lot of skill.

didn't know that :)

Never really got into it in any form.

I like reading about the engineering tech. You've got with very good, smart people fighting it out to find that 1% edge in horsepower, aero, downforce, etc. Even better when they're cheating!

But watching them go around a track or course, not my cuppa.

captain obvious to the rescue. when the tracks are all ovals and the cars are identical, yes, driving techniques related to aerodynamics are essentially the only thing nascar has going on.

Dont forget the rubber - hard or soft, slip or grip? Then you have to decide which wheel should get what tire.

I love bikes, but seeing them race is surprisingly boring. Seeing them crash isn't so fun either since they're actually getting hurt most of the time.

drag racing and F1 here, though i haven't seen much F1 in the decade since they moved to a channel i don't get.

So do you have a busa or what? What year, mods, etc?

It's fairly stock. It's a '99 (which was before the mandatory speed limiter was put on all motorcycles). It's gray/black. I can't find a pic of it on this machine, but I have one at home I can post.

WRC (if i can find a &^^&% place to watch it), Group N, Rally America, Le Mans, Petit Le Mans, ALMS, F1, MotoGP, F1 Speedboat..nascar is running 3 road courses this year, i might watch those...it'll be interesting.

WRC and F1 are shaping up to be pretty exciting this year.

How active is the black (gray?) market for bypassing the governors on newer bikes? Without doing any research at all, I'd guess quite a few buyers of the high end performance bikes immediately get rid of them.
