Bullsh!t. You say "simple algebra question", then you ask something that is pretty esoteric. The OP said "linear algebra question", and guess what? It's a linear algebra question.

Bah, linear algebra. Only math class I took out of interest during my EE undergrad... What a mistake. I hated it!
