Try reading a book while laying in bed. This always knocks me out. I know for a fact I don't get enough sleep, and I think it's part of the reason I have a bad memory and am always running late.

I have an appointment scheduled for early next week. See if I'm a lost cause or not. Seems like things that are 'normal' for me are not supposed to be normal.

No such thing as a lost cause. Even should next week's appointment not go well, that isn't the end of the road. Different therapists often specialize in very different treatment styles and disorders; if one doesn't mesh well with you, shop around until you find another who does.

Or I could treat the problem with mileage. That feels good.

First session was this morning. Don't think she liked some of my answers to her questions, particularly those regarding dating or childhood.

She did feel that I could benefit from more therapy, so I'll be back next week. Don't want to imply that she told me I needed to continue, but I did ask her directly.

Trying a different therapist next week. Wasn't really working well with her. Conflicting information and no really progress on my social problems. At parties, I usually end up not saying much, sometimes off in a corner. With the group, but apart from the group. So I'm told this makes people uncomfortable, dropping me further off the radar.

Remember; a therapist is more like a guide to helping you fix what problems you want to work on. You have to be ready to make an effort yourself as well. They can't wave a wand and fix you.

He has already been improving sleep duration and quality, but is still feeling symptomatic. I initially thought the same thing, but it seems it's a bit different than just sleep deprivation.

What if you can't sleep because of chronic nasal congestion AND mental issues?

(This is my issue, and I have similar issues to the OP)

Always have had allergies, but keeping myself on a routine has allowed me to sleep decently. Still gets screwy when I have to cover shifts at work that are overnights or such though.
Its not a sleep thing.
