I can think of lots of reasons cops would hassle him. Here's a short list of reasons I would hassle someone if I were a copIs this a common occurrence in other parts of the country? I've never had a cop hassle me as much as some of you seem to be hassled nor has anyone ever asked if they could search my car. .
I can think of lots of reasons cops would hassle him. Here's a short list of reasons I would hassle someone if I were a cop
-their car has tinted windows (so cops can't see you doing drugs inside)
-custom rims (who buys spinning rims but isn't high on drugs?)
-car was playing extremely loud music (the sound isn't painful because they are on drugs)
-fart can muffler (people who buy these are obviously on drugs)
-car has been lowered (gang members and idiots)
-truck has been jacked up (idiots)
-guy was driving 20mph over the speed limit (probably a drug dealer)

You refusing makes him/her suspicious, and there's your "probable cause". Case closed. It doesn't matter what's supposed to happen or what the laws are.
So does pleading the 5th make someone guilty?

Canada. Here, any car that has tinted windows, is lowered, and has a fart can muffler has about a 100% chance of having drugs in the car.I agree with nothing you said. Where the hell do you live?
What I am saying is that most of the time, it won't matter if you say no, if the officer wants to he will. You can fight it later in court or by whatever legal proceeding is necessary, but excuses will be made, reasons will be given, and your car will be searched, and they will most likely get away with digregarding your rights in the name of public safety.
I fully support saying no to a search and to the ideals described in the above video, but I also live in the real world.
