Ah but even modelling it at the quantum level would be an abstraction since there are layers below of that, some of which we probably have yet to discover. Hence, theoretically its possible.

Of course, why you even think it matters is beyond me since a MOVIE. Hence, not related to reality at all.

I put someone's brain on a floppy disk once. Ruined the disk.

Anyone still remember a long time ago HP had an artificially intelligent Mopy Fish screensaver that fit on a floppy disk? I always wondered if the Fish was in an alive or dead state when on the floppy disk lying dormant.

Well some say the physical universe itself is entirely an abstraction and in fact it is simply qualia encoded in such a way (raw awareness constrained by the mathematical 'fire in the equations') that gives rise to the physicality of the so called physical world.

Wow, I thought ever everyone knew this one.

Humans only use 10% of their brains potential which means it takes much less CPU power to simulate it. I'm not sure how much less, but it's probably a lot!

This is the greatest response I have ever seen to a thread. I tip my hat to you, sir.

A. you failed to account for the fact that this is a sequel and thus utterly failed to answer many of your own questions by watching that movie first

B. this movie and its predecessor are just that - movies, and fantastical works of fiction at that

did you think about how olivia wilde was able to make the leap from virtual to physical world? think about the physics of that! come back when you get the answer.

Does it really matter? The only reason to watch this movie is to see Olivia Wilde with short hair .

I think the better question is what would have happened if that floating aircraft carrier thing had gone from virtual to physical.
