A painting shows evidence of insanity?

The painter is afraid of stepping on the snow and ruining the perfect, white purity. Take this image further in your own mind.

Edit: if you were in the painting you would hear snow crunching beneath your feet.

haha you psych majors crack me up. This is like that independant movie from family guy (clown and pancakes)...

DO we have a pic of the original painting, and what is the clue about air and water? I didn't see that mentioned in the OP.

This is absurd. It's a damned painting. How does he know anything about the painter? Does he know the painter personally?

Yup, all of this headquakery nonsense is ridiculous and almost totally discredited in the scientific community.

Fear of the day/daylight/sun. It's nighttime and there are lights in the windows, yet it's still mysteriously bright on the ground and people are out.

i'm starting to think along the lines of the ground and sound. if you notice, the horses are completely hovering off the ground. there's no footprints anywhere. he says to remove all the objects and not to think specifically. that leaves the snow on the ground [the unscathed snow]. another clue was, if you were in this picture, what would you hear? well, you'd hear the sound of the snow crunching under your feat, disturbing the perfect snow on the ground. it looks like the painter went to some lengths to not disturb it in the painting.

My answer is still: without talking to the painter, there is no answer

Haha, it wasn't meant to be terribly deep. Just stating that it's fairly irresponsible for someone to throw around the term "insanity" without ever actually talking to the client involved.

Fear of sleighs? What are the people riding on? It looks like they are sitting on patches of ground that have no snow on them.

Fear of the sun or fear of light, fear of day? Why would kids be sleighing around at night time? It would be pitch black outside.

You just repeated what I wrote above, paraphrasing of course.

I wrote "The painter is afraid of stepping on the snow and ruining the perfect, white purity. Take this image further in your own mind.

Fear of intimacy?

the sleighs bear a good resemblance to hands and are off of/not touching the pure white ground, and the people are all so dispassionate.

So when do we get the answer? Even if I think it's a bunch of crock, it'll still drive me crazy til I know.

edit: original picture

Hmm, quite a bit different...I got it! Fear of the RIAA or Painters equivalent. He fears being arrested for Copyright Infringement.

What is that flame shooting out of the babushka in the rear of the middle sled???
He's afraid of jet-propulsion, or ramjet physics.
