Hello, wow, way to make a stupid joke, AND insult three major religions all at once.

Once again, RD, your presence graces us all.
>>

bwahaha, I found it rather funny and very telling of the reality of religion today. But hey that's just my opiumonion, I could be right.
>>

I did, too, actually. *shhhh*

WQell at least I'm not crapping in a Religious thread. All true Fund a Mental Cases believe in Creationism so they would be posting in here unless it's to crap themselves.

This has interesting parallels to how I picture the universe. I visulize a white hole, the big bang, as a constant event. The universe is continually erupting out of a white hole and collapsing into a black hole that are in the same place, the intersection of the line that makes a figure eight, but maybe twisted like a moibus. The loops are the curvature of space time, one running forward and the other running backward. The figure eight has two loops in our ehght, but they could be bound together, the forward stream and the backward stream separated only dimensionally. The age of the universe is determined by the distance our portion of space has traveled on the loop. So on one end you have a white hole fed by a black hole, and at the other entropy.

eh what does the entropy look like Moonie?

the expansion of the universe? (just a guess) but what does it look like before the universe gets there on the loop?

Didn't you get the memo? The force isn't real, it's just mitochondria, er, metered-chlorine, er, metacholonic...ah crap, it's the Force. Happy?

WOW!! Unbeliveable..... i mean... WOW!

Another imaginable theory! Incredibly genius! Best job in the world! Who would'nt love to get paid millions to imagine our existence!

On tbe sad note, this will effect gulible"unaware" humans..... Just like the evolution theory! Things people dream of... funny! :)

Sure. Makes sense.

I still can't wrap my mind around an infintie universe. An expanding universe must expand into something.... what is it expanding into?

Time is very real. How we measure it is a man-made contruct though.

So we shouldn't think aboot things whatsoever?

[Homer Simpson voice] I wish I read more of that book by that wheel-chair guy. [/Homer Simpson voice]

I'm not saying you are Homer, but that was the first thing that popped into my head when I read what you wrote. :)

A new theory of the universe suggests that space and time may not have begun in a big bang, but may have always existed in an endless cycle of expansion and rebirth.

Up and down, 1 and 0, on and off. Like waves of energy.

That was easily the most interesting thing I've read all weekend.
Good find.

Serious, serious angst

But seriously folks, this theory is not the Big Bang at all. The Big Band err, I mean Bang requires a singularity. It drove Hawking et al crazy. This avoids the who thing. Reminds me of a hybrid Big bang and Steady State theory.

I didn't know Hawking went crazy...

Then again I didn't know Hawking drove. Maybe he makes Nefs go mad....in droves.

Now if he ever did go mad it might happen from human stupidity and not from theorizing. .... But that's just my theory on the subject.

My thory is that it wasn't as much of a Big Bank as it was a small pop. I don't know, just my oppinion...

is it just me, or are scientologists always changing their minds? first they tell you you're not living up to your potential, and now they say there was no big bang and we're all some logical impossibility anyway. and they keep having that stress test... whats up with that?

EDIT:

<< My thory is that it wasn't as much of a Big Bank as it was a small pop. I don't know, just my oppinion... >>

thory? big bank like chase? small pop like the 16 oz one at wendy's? well you can store your money in the big bank, and you can use that money to buy a small pop...
