A new race - now for a trophy! The race has started!

Morning stats - quickly: after 11 hours of crunching (and some racers taking part in the PrimeGrid Challenge - please stick it out there!) the racers have crunched 30257 points.
More than in the 24 hours before ... Looking good!

I have 8 i5 desktops and one i3 desktop, and an E5 (12 core) server all running EDGeS exclusively, but only during non-business hours (work programs at my office don't play nice with BOINC projects because the office management system developers are dumb (😉) but they put out some decent production when they are not in use. These machines usually average around 50K points per day on most other projects but have only produced 12.6K in the past 24 hours. I believe that production was pretty quick when I last ran EDGeS (getting the 500K I already had) so that makes me wonder if my machines are having trouble getting work. If so, I might let them work on a second project as well, but keep EDGeS at a higher priority.

I've no interest in the belt but I am putting a couple rigs on the current EDGEs project for the benefit of the TeAm while the POGS project is out of work units.

I'm not extremely interested in the belt either. I certainly don't expect to win it. I'm in this race (or will be after PrimeGrid) to help the TeAm, and more importantly, for the stats.

Here are the firsta 24-hours stats:

Well done, TennesseeTony and Fardringle! 🙂
Welcome to the race, networkman!

At this rate we may reach quite high - in two days pass #9 and two days later #8 ...
Please crunch on!

Morning stats:
Since the stats yesterday, the team has added 31 297 points, for a total (in the race) 93 930 points in 35.5 hours.
Well done, TeAm!

I've moved 3 of my rigs (Q9550, 1090T and 2600K) to Edges. I replaced the HDD on the 1090T so hopefully that will solve the problems I've had with that machine. It's been running for nearly 24 h with no problems yet.

I'll finish out the primegrid race with my 3930K and then move it to Edges.

Nice output all thus far! 😎

I don't like how Edges only updates the scores once a day, but the scores are looking great so far!

We have four users representing the TeAm in the top ten, and are the top producing TeAm as of the last update as well. I had to turn off some heat last night, but it's back to chilly weather and full bore crunching now! 🙂

[H]ard|OCP is putting up impressive numbers, but it's only one user doing 98.64% of the work. If that keeps up, we'll not be passing that team, but we should pass many others.

Fardringle, your output seems to scale appropriately to my output, after doing a core count, so I don't think it's a lack of WU's (although I DO wish they'd load up more WU's at a time than they do).

Here are the stats for the second day of racing:

Nice output. If we keep this output, we may reach 900K - 1.1 M points, which should put us somewhere in the 15- 18 points area ...

And check this:

Really nice output!

For the "project #2: March 30 - April 12" I'm hoping and crossing my fingers for Milkyway...We've very recently...lost 2 points...they will be so far ahead...it will be challenging to catch them...they keep pulling ahead by 2million a day...I'm...going back to MW in an attempt to keep them from getting TOO far ahead.

In other news (but still on topic), as MW is a potential candidate for an upcoming race, petrusbroder, myself and others have managed to partially plug the hole in the ***, we're now only dropping a few hundred thousand a day. Throw some GPU at MW if you can.

.

For what it's worth, we were the top team in Edges production at 62k, 2nd place was an INDIVIDUAL with 42k (holy crap!), and the rest of the top 10 paled in comparison:
12.4k
10k
9k
7.4k
7.3k
6.4k
6k
5.4k

So in Peter's screenshot above, only [H]ard|OCP is really moving up with us, the rest of them are sitting ducks! B)

Morning stats:
Since the stats yesterday, the TeAm has added 25 012 points to a total (during the race) of 159 889 points in 2½ days.

We have to beware: after the PrimeGrid Challenge, Seti@Germany may very well put their "emergancy team" to EDGeS ... and those guys are powerful too ...

Here are the next day's stats.

Unfortunately, the Formula-BOINC-stats web is down. No status ...

But we are the top-producers:

and we have 6 of our TeAm-mates among the top-20:

Petrus, thanks for the work involved in keeping us updated!

Now did I hear someone say they weren't interested in the belt!?

Peter, I think it's time to break out the supermodel, showing our belt in use. The belt's value will then surely increase. 😉

Oooooooohhhhhhhh Yeeeeaaaaahhhhh!!!! Brother!!!

Actually I was looking for an image host and decided to check out the one Peter uses, saw a link to "most recent uploads", and... saw a pic of the TAS belt.

Anyway, Google is my friend, I've now settled on an image host, and will use them in this very post. That said, I'm hoping my UPS carrier might soon deliver the TAS belt to my door.

I just ran one of these edges work units. It took my system 8.75 seconds to complete? While my wingman was 406 seconds, them having quite a bit faster cpu.

Seems strange.

EDIT: I think I found the issue. It seems edges doesnt actually suspend when you ask it to. I suspended a wu, but it was still running in the background. It looks like it actually finished, then told boinc it was done even though it was suspended. Boinc then only credited me for the 8 seconds it ran before I suspended it.

@Waffleironhead: 🙁

Here are the quick morning numbers:
Since yesterday evening, the TeAm has produced 25 760 more points.
We have passed Seti@Germany and Gridcoin and are #8 with 4 points (we started at #11 and zero points).
Well done TeAm!
We will probably pass #7 (Russia) before the day is over and #6 (Planet 3DNow) before sunday evening and then have 8 points.

I checked this morning and my rig was sitting idle - apparently EDGEs ran out of work. I can't grab anymore! So much for that.

If you're "persistent" you can get work. I've gotten that message a lot, but I don't think I've run out of work since I switched over last night.
