No, totally different processors. Core 2 Quad vs. 2-core Sandy Bridge w/ HT. But they're usually similar in performance, and they are here too. But maybe I should try setting up a Linux VM on the Sandy system.

And thank you biodoc for explaining why I'm not scoring as expected, roughly half what I used to be able to make. And that will drop even further as I'm forced to drop to one box for the Summer due to excessive energy usage.

I still think we can take and keep 7th place though. Shame, used to be such a high scoring project. :|

On Universe@Home, if you want to know how much credit your pending is worth:

count / 45 * 10000

For example I currently have 144 / 45 * 10000 = 32000

You can verify the formula by using the count of valid WU's and compare to your total credits.

@Tony: Once I can get access to the message boards, I'll try to figure out why there's a discrepancy between linux and windows on this project. It's unusual. As for the cost of running our rigs, we all understand that issue. It's especially crazy on those hot summer days where we are paying double (AC & rigs). Fortunately it's been unusually cool these past few days in New England.

@Peter: Thanks for the stats! It's going to be a challenge to gain more points on this project.

I retired 1/1/2014 and the wife just retired on 5/1/15. It's such a great stress reliever. 🙂
It takes about six months to really slow down. Instead of doing 10 things in one day ya have to remember you can do 1 thing a day for 10 days.
