wow parenting has taken a shit since I was a kid. If I wanted something and my mom said no and I continued to bitch and moan about it I NEVER got it. Hell she'd take things away and tell me to stfu. I don't understand all this "constructive parenting" that people think is so awesome, it's pretty much ruining the newer generation of Americans turning us more into entitled little bitches who whine and moan about shit instead of just "turning the other cheek" and moving on.

This x2

And she is a Fucking Idiot and a prime example of what is wrong with kids these days.

I saw this on the news, what a crock. Kids don't run the show, let them know that. I do everyday.

My kid is the king of the house. He gets whatever he wants because I can't stand the whining.

Such progress we have made. When I was a kid and my parents happened to get us fast food I was normally arguing against McDonalds and for a drive in called Tops that used to be all over the DC area. Unlike McDonalds they would put only what you wanted on your burger. 100% of the time what my parents wanted is what we got, they were not at all intimidated by my whining. If anything it would get me a smack if I went on too long with it.

Thats pretty much how it was for me. There was no such thing as "wearing them out". I usually got beat long before they could possibly get tired of me. Always amazed when I saw the neighbor kids act likes shits. Carol was a single mom with two boys and worked at home. She never had enough energy to deal with all their nonsense. More often than not she let them do as they liked.

Did she ever consider, maybe, taking the toy out so the kid realized it wasn't an incentive to get the happy meal? Or maybe, I dunno, just not going to mcdonalds to begin with?

I wonder... would it be within my rights to sue this dipshit for filing a frivolous lawsuit and wasting my tax dollars?

Its a civil suit so in theory one side or the other should be paying court costs. But actually I think its still a net loss for the state.
Of course, if it goes to court thats the judges decision so you need to kick his ass for being wasteful.

Sad that some find it easier to have the gov say no to their kid than they do it themselves.

It is just another sign of the "everyone is a victim" society we live in, where no one wants to take responsibility for anything.

article in the OP said:
“Because of McDonald’s marketing, [her daughter] Maya has frequently pestered Parham into purchasing Happy Meals, thereby spending money on a product she would not otherwise have purchased.”

It's so ironic how the US is becoming less and less capitalistic every day. In most countries you think "we need to market this product awesome so everybody wants it" but the US is starting to get an element of "don't make it too good or someone might sue us because of how awesome it is"
