A mouse just popped out of my air conditioner

We had mice in the office this winter. We put out sticky traps. They worked. Until moi saw the mouse still struggling to get off the trap. I thought those traps were supposed to be poisoned to kill the mice quickly. I don't mind that mice need to die, because mice need to die. I can't stand watching animals suffer though, even mice. So I liberated it outside. It hasn't come back so life is good.
