This old chestnut again?

How about something Nazi releated with some real relevance?

On 8th November, 1923, the Bavarian government held a meeting of about 3,000 officials. While Gustav von Kahr, the leader of the Bavarian government was making a speech, Hitler and armed stormtroopers entering the building. Hitler jumped onto a table, fired two shots in the air and told the audience that the Munich Putsch was taking place and the National Revolution had began.

Leaving Hermann Goering and the SA [the real brown shirts!] to guard the 3,000 officials, Hitler took Gustav von Kahr, Otto von Lossow, the commander of the Bavarian Army and Hans von Seisser, the commandant of the Bavarian State Police into an adjoining room. Hitler told the men that he was to be the new leader of Germany and offered them posts in his new government. Aware that this would be an act of high treason, the three men were initially reluctant to agree to this offer. Hitler was furious and threatened to shoot them and then commit suicide: "I have three bullets for you, gentlemen, and one for me!" After this the three men agreed.

Now, when this sort of thing happens during an election, you can post such tripe from a Nazi and give it real consideration. Until then it's completely meaningless.

You're certainly biased, the republican party consistantly attacked Kerry for being soft on defense.
WTF are you talking about? Did you even read my post with any sort of comprehension whatsoever?

Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of leaders. This is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denouce the pacifists for a lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in every country.

Can we lay off the Nazi BS for just one day? :disgust:
Yeah...we've got four more years filled with terror warnings and other various and sundry fear-mongering efforts to rub in their faces, Tabb. ;)

I just hope the country realizes that he isn't by any means a good leader, and that other leaders won't have deal with his poor economic decisions.

So, based on this quote alone, we should all agree that this would apply under Franklin D. Roosevelt's term? correct?

Good point, but we did go after those who attacked us during World War II and weren't consistantly lied too. ;)

That is totally inane. There is a vast difference between the method you perform a common bodily function and the strategy you employ to strike fear into your countrymen to influence them and manipulate their allegiances. If you can't see that, well than, *** damn it, you must be no better than a fool.

It will be made obvious by Bush's inability to forge any kind of foreign relations again. If Iran or Syria needs some invadin', we're on our own.

The Germans did not attack us during WWII. And how do you know Roosevelt didn't stretch the truth to get his way?

The things that will destroy us are: politics without principle; pleasure without conscience; wealth without work; knowledge without character; business without morality; science without humanity; and worship without sacrifice.
--Mahatma Gandhi

Now let's all argue whether or not this applies to Clinton, Kerry, Bush and/or your mom. Then we can decide who is more likely to become a 4'2" anorexic peacemonger...

Where did I say the germans attacked us? From our lovely public education I have knowledge that FDR didnt stretch the truth, he did want us to interviene. You could discuss about the Japanesse mini-sub and the radar system and how it was ignored... its still just a theory and hasn't been proven.

How did it "sorta happen?" AFAIK, the only thing shot in this election was a duck...supposedly by Kerry.
