Not this one but I got the other cars that have been parked there from calling the landlord and having him tell me "Oh that licence number isnt a tenant." "So are you going to tow them?" "I'm sure by the time I drive down there they'll already be gone plus if I go and call the tow truck that will take two hours and if they leave then I will have called for nothing." "I am late for work and this is costing me my job." (Silence...) "Hello?!"

I don't think the landlord likes me much anymore.

Have you put a god damn sign on your garage door that says "No Parking"?

Or how about parking in front of your garage like everyone else is doing?

And you should have called the police so that they have your complaint filed. Call them everytime someone is parked out there.

I'm starting to believe you deserve this.

edit - Instead of emailing the police, call them and find out what your options are!!!

Yeah yeah, it's nice that you confronted them again and all that. But they're still parking in front of your garage, so what have you really accomplished?

How about you actually call the police. If I were an officer and someone emailed me about people parking in front of their garage, the fact that it came in via EMAIL would tell me it wasn't a high priority. That's probably why you got the "we'll see if we can do anything" treatment. Of course they can do something, they're cops.

Are you going to actually do anything to make these people stop screwing you over? Your landlord isn't doing anything, stop calling him. Your neighbors aren't doing anything, stop trying. Post a sign (if you can legally do that, since the garage is a rental), and CALL THE POLICE.

At this point I don't think you should care if he hates you or not since he is not doing his job. Call him every single time it happens and demand he drive down to take care of the situation. If the car is parked out there and you need to get to work - call him every 5 minutes with an update as to whether the car is still there. Hell - call him with updates when there isn't a car there until he takes care of the problem.

And seriously - get the car towed

As has already been mentioned several times in this thread, you have every legal right to call the cops and have them towed, what are you waiting for? Our am I also going to have to call shens?

After your latest encounter, if I saw that car again, I'd shove a potato up it's tailpipe with a broom handle and clean up the residue. But then, I am an ass and I don't mind confrontations when they are necessary.

I work for a towing company, so let me tell you how this works. It has to be the property owner that has it towed, aka your landlord. If he wont do it, then you cant have him removed yourself. You can try to get the cops involved but they likely wont care.

As I see it, you have two options, superglue the gas door shut, or superglue some cotton balls to their windshield :D

No shit. OP, they own you. You did nothing when you confronted them, but to cause them to think about messing your car up.

You're letting them walk all over you. I know it's been said about a billion times in this thread, but just have the damn cars towed. Trust me, the tow company would love to make money off of those asshats.

EDIT: When the cars are towed and the owners try the old "rush out at the last minute" strategy, make sure you wave to them as their car is being towed to the impound lot.

I'm glad you understand the situation like I do. Everyone keeps telling me to tow the cars even though I don't have the legal right to do so. Only my landlord does. The police officer said that there's nothing they can do since it is private property and not a fire lane.

So since I had today off I spent the afternoon sitting in my garage with my roommates and drinking beers with baseball bats propped up against the walls. Everytime a car pulled up we shook our heads at the drivers and they would move on. I saw one of the women from yesterday and introduced myself to her and she said that she and her sisters live in the #4 apartment and that their bfs and their friends can act like macho jerks sometimes and that she was sorry. So it's almost 2am now and for the first time every garage is blocked with a parked car except mine.

At this time I think a long term solution is just to find a place with better management or better parking solutions with more reasonable neighbors or just buy a house thats affordable in Orange County. I'm going to try to see if the landlord's inaction is grounds enough for me to terminate my lease early so I can move out. Thanks for the advice.
