A good reason not to fly China Airlines

Actually this happened in the first half of last year... The news spread amazingly fast and my father, a ground engineer for Lufthansa, went out to see the plane with his colleages and made a few nice pics with a digicam that got passed around alot in his office.

Was quite an uproar at the time and was subject of discussion for weeks at FRA. Even friends of mine who work in the terminal at check-in and administration heard of this mess. :frown:

Ok you guys have no clue.

China Airline is a Taiwanese based airline, i fly twice with them every year, no problem at all, love the food.

Those pictures are NOT China Airline because China Airline doesn't use blue strip on airplane. Period.

It is obviously an airline in China.

Damn, wtf cause all that damage to the blade? Birds? Damn, I feel sorry for all the birds missing their heads if it is because of birds.

your deductive reasoning, assuming that the engine pictured is off the plane in the background, is astounding.

Yeah China Airlines has some serious problems. My father's friend once rode in it....and some of the passengers were injured badly when the plane suddenly dipped and they didn't have their saftey belts on.

I can't say I ever flew in China Airlines, but I did take a plane to China in some airline, I forgot the name (it was in Chinese). It was a white-knuckle affair, and it dropped twenty feet at one point (it sure felt like it, my stomach was in my chest). Thought it was my last flight. 😀

i have been on thai airways, EVa air, korean air, and asiana for internation flights. glad i have not been on china air

u guys got it wrong...the current air carrier w/ the worst safety record is korean air....friend died in one.....on the way to guam........never gonna go on korean air...

neways...dang wtf is that...china air..aha.....

well, i hear that singapore airlines is rated the best airline in the world?.......read that on "The Economist" (which by the way is far superior of a magazine than time or any US-based news magazine......but i still like time cuz it's a lot more entertaining...but their recent man or the yr/century selections are gay...)

Aeroflot is supposed to be sucky as well

My dad has flown aeroflot before. He says he has never been scared for his life like that before, and this is coming from an ex-army infantry officer. He said he would have rather taken a parachute and jumped off rather then taken his chances staying on...

geez that's pretty shocking... how irresponsible

thugh air china (main land) has a pretty good record i think. it might be china airlines (taiwan) that has the bad record

I would have guessed the quality control of free Taiwan would be better than communist China?

i guess you guessed wrong 😉

though thsi is pretty poor quality control

PLEASE Do not confuse Air China with China Airlines!!

Air China = Commies
China Airlines = Taiwan

Air China is a definite no no. I flew with them when I went to China and the plane was so old that the upholstery was all torn. The stewardess was nice, but she was chewing gum while serving the meals with the mouth open.

If you thought that was bad STAY AWAY From SOUTEASTERN CHINA AIR!!! I was sat next to the wing and the Turbine was wrapped in DUCT TAPE!!!! WTF????

EDIT: China airlines is not so safe either but at least the planes are all nice and new.

Once I took a trip in China and was flying from Beijing to another city in China on some airline (forgot which one)... Anyways we were making our approach to the runway to land at our destination, with all the landing gears down and everything...

Right when we were about to touchdown, the plane suddenly dropped and SLAM onto the runway... luggages from the overhead compartments started falling down and everyone was screaming... I actually hit my head on the armrest (I was sleeping on the armrest at the time)...

Then the pilot came on the speaker and said: "Sorry people, we were testing a new automatic landing system..."

WTF???
