there's something to be said for alone time, but certain activities can be more enjoyable if you have someone helping or at least keeping you company. it doesn't have to be every time...

Jumping the gun, I'd say since from the post, all we know is that she told him what she thought and now is trying to find out more information. Maybe they should talk instead of basically assuming what kind of person she is.

My wife doesn't want me to spend money on aftermarket parts on my car but I have like 3 other expensive hobbies. Photography, firearms, my computer. Is she a dream killer too?

Fuck that. If my (former or future) girlfriend wanted to help me work on my car, play video games with me, or play sports with me, and get dirty she'd officially be the hottest girl in the world to me.

Instead, what they do is take what you like, say they don't understand why you do it, and say 'we should spend more time together' (subtext: more of what I want to do), then the guy gets miserable, checks out, and they then dump us.

End of fucking story.
