it's a car forum. people don't post regularly unless they're super enthusiasts or looking for a fix.

Why sorry to agree with it? It's straight up truth. There is a problem if you don't agree with. A real woman takes care of her man in this fashion, just like a man takes care of her in other ways.

No you're right.. I just didn't want to come across like I agree with ripping her a new one or anything. I just know how people like that feel. I've been there.

Eh, we don't know the whole story from the one post. If the guy has the cash to waste on fixing up an old jeep fine... if he doesn't and he is putting strain on the money department of the household (even though they are not married) then yes she has every right to complain.

Umm, no. Not married means she can't say shit about what he does with his money. You used to buy Narmer's beers before, right?:D

so if they share an apartment and he can't make his portion of the rent, she should suck it up and deal with it?

in general i agree with most of it but there are certain circumstances that we don't know about.

Seemed like the guy who responded has had personal experience. Only one with personal experience of this would give such wonderful words of wisdom.

there's something to be said for alone time, but certain activities can be more enjoyable if you have someone helping or at least keeping you company. it doesn't have to be every time...

I don't agree with it. My wife (granted, not GF) lets me do whatever the fuck I want, but I keep telling her to voice what she thinks. I don't want to be with arm-candy or a fuck buddy. I want a relationship.

Unless she is nagging/bitching about it, but she is asking the opinion of a JEEP forum if her bf should sell a JEEP. A little bias? Jumping the gun, I'd say since from the post, all we know is that she told him what she thought and now is trying to find out more information. Maybe they should talk instead of basically assuming what kind of person she is.

My wife doesn't want me to spend money on aftermarket parts on my car but I have like 3 other expensive hobbies. Photography, firearms, my computer. Is she a dream killer too?

And they gave her their opinions.

I should forward that post to my exgirlfriend with the subject line --

For your next boyfriend:

Big difference between a wife and a GF.

MotionMan

You don't want a GF to tell you what she thinks, but it miraculously changes once she is a wife? Then you probably wonder why the hell shit changed and she wasn't the woman you married because now she tells you what she thinks.

Fuck that. If my (former or future) girlfriend wanted to help me work on my car, play video games with me, or play sports with me, and get dirty she'd officially be the hottest girl in the world to me.

Instead, what they do is take what you like, say they don't understand why you do it, and say 'we should spend more time together' (subtext: more of what I want to do), then the guy gets miserable, checks out, and they then dump us.

End of fucking story.
