Hi All,
I went to SVC to find one of those PCI slot plates with Molex power connectors on it to bring power outside my case. Well, I found that (got the one with the external SATA connection too) and added it to my cart. Then I decided, what the heck, I'll check out the Clearance section - a dangerous thing for those with low sales resistance 😉 . I don't know how, but they still have some of those CM Mystique 631 aluminum cases, black w/window there for $35 after rebate + shipping. Considering those were $100 cases, it's not bad even if shipping is high.
. When I went to the CM Global English site to see what they had about the adapter bracket (nothing, I guess it's DCed), I saw they have the new version of the CM Device Module out (STB-3T4-E3-GP) that has a bezel on it and stepped sides (have been flat up to now) to fit in most any case w/o mods - nize...
The nice things I found there today are the CoolerMaster 3.5" external bay adapter (for floppies, etc) in silver (aluminum) color - not hard to change it to black or whatever color you need. It is made of aluminum so it's light but sturdy enough to hold just about any 3.5" external device. These have been discontinued and aren't readily found - one place I found via Froogle is asking $25. for them! SVC has been selling them at $10.00 but now they are only $2.00. I also found some 10-packs of thumbscrews for only 75 cents - can always use some of those, so I added one to the cart. Got the whole order for less than $12 shipped by First Class (light orders). Can't beat that! They have standard, straight red generic SATA cables for 99 cents, etc.
Hope you enjoy your visit to the SVC clearance dept !
