he is 412 miles in this morning and moving again, after riding till 1 AM this morning.
He's averaged more than 130 miles a day on about half gravel/dirt, half pavement.

This is where he stopped at one in the morning because he couldn't really figure out where he was. I don't even see a trail seriously. He had to get to the top of that!

He's moving right along today and I have a friend in Ephrata who may come out to meet him, depending on when he arrives. He'll make up a sign and everything.

He texted me about Mike meeting him, and I offered to get him a hotel room at Moses Lake. He thought he might push on to Othello LOL. I said OK. That was crazy talk IMO.
A while ago I get this text:

"Yep, just got chased by a yearling and the biggest bull I've ever seen started at me. Moses lake it is. Wherever you think looks good is fine with me. Just need towels and clean sheets"

Haha that will open your eyes!!

I figured out a route for him and booked a room. He is settled in for the night and a daylight start. That is easier for avoiding bull elk ;)

On the surface it seems silly, but we all need a reason to push ourselves towards accomplishment, otherwise life is stagnant.

Good for him!

He took 2nd place out of 26.
I think we can safely call bullshit on his not caring about the competition.
