If your answering machine is picking up the call, you called the wrong number.

Its the number posted on their website. If its inaccurate, their website is inaccurate, another fail on their part.

As an American, if I seek to hire you to take care of my health and don't feel like I'm getting the attention I deserve, I am free to take my business elsewhere. At least, while we still have private health care. If the US goes to a govt funded system, then I would be screwed.

From this thread, we can tell that half of ATOT would succeed in a business and would actually try to help their customers. The other half would be begging for a government bailout after watching their business fall into the crapper due to lack of concern for their customers.

that's a long time for an answering machine to pick up. although we all want a live voice in a ring or two an answering machine to me means the business could be megabusy. which may well reflect on their quality. i would call them again.

yes, because every business in the world should be waiting on it's toes to serve your beck and call...
Ummmm, since thats pretty much the point of a business, yes.
They only make money when they get customers. Otherwise they are non-businesses.

I have a sarcastic comment above, but this could have been something as simple as a power failure. My wife manages a business with a phone system controlled by a computer. No power - no phones.

In the age of instant gratification and entitlement, we get to read this drivel. I fear for our future in more ways than one.

I'm not gonna pick a side. but have you considering that the current customer should come first? before the potential customer? I mean, they did the same thing you did. You know, wait there turn, give there info , wait some more. Yes Businesses should try very hard to please every customer. but if your business comes down to a single phone call. maybe this business was not the correct choice for you? Try to call again maybe. Maybe the person answering the phones is busy? that can happen sometimes. Even with someone who is dedicated to handling the call volume

maybe they had their own emergency?

Only problem i see here is that the answering machine should have picked up sooner, other than that you're being too critical. B/c if its a medical office dealing with "right now" stuff, then it is very possible they were dealing with a lot of "right now" stuff when you called.

Sorry Mikey but you are very wrong in this instance

that's part of my issue...I know of NO answering machine (or voice mail system for that matter) that would only pick up after a minute and 45 seconds. I think the OP is exaggerating if not full of it. I also have a very hard time believing that he waited that long for an answer.

What are you doing waiting on the phone for almost 2 minutes? After 4 rings I hang up.

I was on my bluetooth headset and following up some other paperwork for the VA, which is equally frustrating. Government bull sh!t.

I was doing a hvac job. This guy was a stereotype of American. (loud obnoxious etc) He was full of self importance, but what he doesn't realize is that his job is really not important to me, and there are 50 other jobs that require my attention
