I'm not close-minded. I actually change my mind. But it takes arguments. I haven't heard anything but whining in this thread.

I would say there is a pretty good argument that your disclaimer was not as effective as it would have been to remove the negative loading from your descriptions.[/quote]

Shhh...you obviously don't understand how polls work Conservative!

The results are interesting. It confirms my hypothesis that most of the conservatives here are actually (reasonable) fiscal conservatives.

But the most vocal we hear from are the nationalists and religious fanatics. Basically they hi-jack the whole Republican agenda!

Fiscal conservatives, you are being overpowered by a small minority.

Fiscal conservative - yes - I believe that I deserve the money that I earn by working and some lazy bum on welfare or some crack addicted babys mama doesn't. I'm also very generous to the needy, on my terms. See Religous zealot.

Nationalist - not so much - I judge people on their actions and not what they look like. If your God is telling you to kill me .. I don't like you and pray for the opportunity to kill you first.

Religious zealot - maybe - I believe Jesus died for my sins. I believe in morality as outlined in the Bible (thou shall not kill, thou shall not steal, etc.). This also gives me great respect for people (unborn included) as they are all God's creations. This religous fervor also translates into being very generous with my money and time to those who are needy. This ties into fiscal conservatism in that I should be the one who decides who gets my money, not the government.

Kool-aid drinker - no thanks, I'll take Wyler's Light. I've been watching my weight and laying off the sugar. :p

Anyway, again, the results are in and it appears that most conservatives are fiscal conservatives. Yet the extremists are the most vocal. Interesting... just like in real life.

I'm socially liberal (pro-fvcking-choice, who cares about sexual inclination?...freedom to do wtf you want in your private life). I'm a nationalist for the most part, I tend to think the UN is a waste of time. The amount of decision making they actually do on important world issues is laughable, and the fact that 1 of the super powers can simply put an and to 4 others is absurd. There's no unity in the UN at this time, and going through them is giving up any chance. They don't do anything about the genocides going on, NK nukes, terrorism across the world, helping with starvation in underdeveloped countries...wtf do they do? Oh, and I'm in the middle for financial deals. Spending money on every program to make people feel good about themselves and then complain about increased taxes =bs, not allowing any programs through in order to save money = bs.

Heh, and the whole UN thing, I really just have no idea what they do. I've yet to hear of the UN doing much of anything in my short life, though that could simply be because of my ignorance to their status and their achievements. Any links that change my mind?
