I never tried to prove 9/11 = inside job by mentioning northwoods.
Mentioning northwoods is proof that our government is certainly capable of carrying out attacks on its own people.
"Proof" (or make that strongest evidence) of 9/11 being an inside job would be WTC Building 7, Mineta's devastating testimony, Able Danger, etc. :thumbsup:

A whole lot of people believe in this sort of stuff, but I think the government is generally benign (except Chenney). Sure they may have missed the bigger picture presented when that one fella was arrested (charges I am not sure of) for only wanting to learn to fly a plane while in flight only, but all these security people just never put it all together. Even if they put the plot together (to fly planes into buildings), I'm not sure they would have known who/when/where. Maybe one plane could have been shot down before reaching its target if the government knew something was up.

I believe in the moon landing. I also used to believe that there was no way our government could of caused 9/11, but I had to eventually step out of the box and research the other side of the story.

This is probably the best illustration that there are those in power who would consider doing harm to the public in order to further an agenda of some sort. Governments have harmed their own citizens in the past, even within the past 100 years. They will do it again, for as long as humans have lust for power and dominance over others.
9/11: It was far too complex to be an inside job, at least the scenario described by the consipracists - bombs and demolition crews. The worst anyone could reasonably accuse the Bush Admin of, with respect to this, would be inaction in the face of warnings. (Then in the aftermath, there are other problems, such as the Patriot Act.) As Vic mentioned, one of the biggest bits of evidence against any kind of big conspiracy is that no one has said anything yet. I think by now that someone's conscience would have gotten the best of them, and they'd have posted something about how they planted bombs, or maybe that they have drafts of the plans to destroy the Trade Center. For something this big, something would have come out by now.
