So I was looking at a desktop graphics reviews for an upgrade to my Razer Blade 1060 6gb system and I see that the 980ti is now slower than the FuryX! I wanted to go ahead and pick up a 1080 over Vega since it's known technology and Vega looks to barely match it, but the over time regression compared to the competition is concerning

It's not Kepler'd. Neither the Fury X nor the 980 TI can do 4k well, and once you overclock the 980 TI, it's 15% faster than an OC'd Fury X.
 
Looks like Fury X gained ~10% in comparison to 980Ti, or 5% in 4K despite the disadvantage in Vram capacity. It's not keplered yet, but if more Vulkan titles come, it will be for sure.
 
There was a re-review a few months back of 980 Ti vs Fury X on some site. I'll relink it if I can find it. Fury X is ahead at stock, but IIRC at OC vs OC the 980 Ti still wins by close to 10%.

AMD's GCN always gets faster over time. I said before at Fury X launch that I expected it to gain ground, and win in stock vs stock, but never catch up in OC vs OC. So far holding true.

But it's not "Keplered". In some games, Kepler would drop to a full 1-2 tiers below what it was supposed to compared to both Maxwell and GCN. Show me multiple games with 390X and 1060 beating a 980 Ti and then I'll concede it's been Keplered.

I would only worry if there had been a huge swing (25% or so) within a year of release. It's been two years and, at most, about a 10% change. If you bought a 980ti you've already had two years with a faster card, and will continue to have a faster card for the foreseeable future if you OC.

Agree with this. Nice thing about G-Sync, it does future proof your Gpu much longer than without it. I have Titan X Maxwell and really haven't felt the need to upgrade with PG278Q 1440p monitor. The original Titan I felt the performance drop once newer games dropped.

Overall, the GTX 980 Ti is still significantly faster than the Fury X in the majority of our games although the Fury X has been able to gain a little ground – 7 additional benches out of the 75 we originally tested are now in the Fury X’ favor – although it is still bested by the GTX 980 Ti overall. We don’t see the GTX 980 Ti losing any ground in the older games to the GTX 1070, although the newer card pulls further ahead in some of the newest games.

The 980ti is a great card at 1080p with plenty of reserve power for future games.

Nothing below a 1080ti is a good 4K card, IMHO.

My Fury OC's from a stock 1050 to 1120mhz, even had it run at 1160mhz and come close to stock GTX 1070.

I owned a Keplar card and up until about a month ago I owned a 980Ti. Not Keplar'd at all. Only reason I got rid of it is because mining brought added value so I sold it and got a 1080Ti. It was still running all my games at 1440p, the majority being maxed out.

More BS, basless accusations. This only serves to embarrass yourself. Every benchmark in the link I provided can be validated by other sites, unless you have a valid reason to doubt these numbers other than baseless "it's fake" non sense, no body is going to take you seriously.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isnt ABT run by a former AT member who was banned? Due to affiliation of some sort to one of the GPU makers?
