Too bad it barely runs Doom 3.
Although it certainly was a great buy. $299 for the pro, and $249 for the non-Pro. That series of cards (9700-9800) for almost 2 straight years could play games at highest settings...amazing. That was a great investment back in the day.
Of course, the sad thing was ATI sat on the butts for nearly 2 straight years and if nVidia didn't have the FX fiasco ATI would have been destroyed with that tactic. And look at them now...way behind. Same thing with AMD I guess. Hubris softens the earth beneath the feet of victory.
Which is why nVidia should not let history repeat itself and release a new top end Q4 07 or Q1 08.
