Why are Terrorists that are not citizens getting extra rights? If they'd spend more of their time on how to get more bad guys as they do on the ones that were locked up I'd bet we'd have more of them isn't that the point. Crap I guess it isn't. what is the point off catching these bastards anyhow if we just give them a vacation to Bahamas?
Nice rant. Looks like some rightwing commentator has been stroking your erroneous zones, again.
These defendants have the same rights as anybody, foreign or domestic, who's been accused of a crime. It's the way we've done things for 200 years. They are "the accused"- find that term in the Constitution, apply it to the situation at hand.
Something that the Bushistas ignored, and that is detrimental to the whole process of Justice, is that our govt has to seek Justice Pro Forma, by the book. Make their case in an open court of law, follow the rules set out by the people and the framers of the Constitution. Anything less defeats the purpose.
To be very honest, I find it quite weird and very contradictory that people who have a healthy suspicion of govt, even contempt for it, can suddenly flip-flop on the head of a pin when it comes to anybody the govt accuses of terrorism...
