<< As for FF, well doesn't that mean tests completed, no errors, ready to go? >>

I don't have my manual anymore but mine flashed FF, then went to C1. And i think i remember the FF meaning "motherboard problem" I think it was like on the back of the cover page.

Anybody using a 512mb stick with success? Thats what I want to hear about.

From the Epox manual...

" FF - System Booting. This means the BIOS has already passed the control to the operating system."

On all Epox boards, once the board boots to the OS it displays FF all the time... :)

Well mine flashed that before I had even had the chance to turn it on(nothing installed, not even an OS). It would flash that, and then go straight to c1 and stay on c1. The thing is ive heard that the 8KHA+ has had problems with 512mb sticks, so i think thats what the problem was...

Just got me an Epox 8KHA+ and booted right out of the box with some cheap generic stuff (Samsung chips on Apacer) at fastest sttings at 138FSB. Will try for higher later.
With regards to the FF code - mine is at FF all the time so I guess its OK but not according to the manual rev 1.2 dated 11/13/2001. It says FFh is indicative of a problem of some sort. Per Appendix B-1 re: FFh post code says Boot attempt (INT 19h). Dunno mine works so I will ignore those contradictory comments.

FF can mean one of two things...

IF the debug LEDs read FF after other codes then it's the post code meaning that the system is booting fine, yay! :)

IF it's the first thing that's output and no more, then the most likely problem is that your processor or motherboard is duff, boo! :(

Thats what mine did. Man i HOPE it was the motherboard and not my CPU...that would suck so badly.
Nobody with 512mb stick huh.....
