Im more inclined to believe the "ultra" version does not exist and only GT/GS monikers will be used.

I agree. It seems illogical to use an Ultra moniker on a midrange card when the top-of-the-line card uses down-to-earth automotive-style GTS/GTX

While that is most likely they do still have an option to use Ultra on the 8800, maybe with the 80nm chips they've ordered recently.
