The unemployment rate is currently 5%, which is basically full employment. Throwing out illegals won't automagically create jobs in Trump country, either. Maybe they'll move to the big city to live in crappy apartments & work the kind of jobs illegals work. Probably not.

What law compells that local authorites hold citizen criminals for federal law violations?

Why don't we just go back to Bonnie and Clyde days where I can rob a bank in one state and just drive across the border to another where I can find sanctuary?

Who needs law enforcement agencies able to cooperate with each other?

I'd love to know just how far we carry this state's rights vs not complying with federal law if they don't feel like it argument sanctuary city supporters always cough up, because the same 'logic' supports quite a few really nasty slippery slopes you clearly haven't thought through.

Bonnie & Clyde? Really? We're not talking about murderers & bank robbers.

As I pointed out, jails in places like Oakland would be swamped if they held every illegal tagged for minor offenses until the feds come and get them. The other side of it is that law enforcement often needs for witnesses to come forward instead of running because of la Migra.

The whole headset is totally irrational, anyway, considering that the people yelling the loudest basically don't interact with illegals often enough to matter. They're holed up in their white enclaves buying more guns to turn back the Mexican invasion that isn't happening anyway.

I don't know what make-believe city you claim to have lived in, but you can be assured that in cities that suffer from illegal activities such as drug dealing, rape and murder, most of the perpetrators are full-blooded, legal American citizens.

We're talking about LAWS. Some can be ignored and others can't? You didn't answer my question, what compells local authorities to detain a federal fugitive?

And once again, if states don't have to enforce federal laws, how about sancturary cities for all sorts of things that go against federal laws? Where is the line drawn?

A state can declare businesses and individuals that want to operate outside of all sorts of federal laws, can do so with sanctuary? No slippery slopes there!

You also attempt to speak for the residents of sanctuary cities in a way that defies reality. If the residents didn't want to be a sanctuary city they wouldn't be. They apparently have their reasons even if you find them incomprehensible.

Tell you what- convince the citizens in your city or town to voluntarily hold illegals from some place where they actually have illegals until the feds decide to come & get them, on your own dime, of course. Good luck with that.
 
The reason is we spend enough money on normal policing and they would need to seek more funds from the taxpayer to pay for this weird thing trump demands we do.
