Starbucks has been fucking people over with ridiculous coffee for over 10 years. Am I supposed to care if somebody finally figures out its a huge ass ripoff?

FUCK THEM!

Also, McDonalds rules.

You know what's funny? People who go to Starbucks for a caffeine fix.

Starbucks dark roasts their beans... which means stronger flavor... but alot less caffeine.

You get more caffeine in a cup of folgers

Let me see if I have the steps for a successful ATOT Starbucks thread:

1. Happily patronize the same "very convenient" $$$tarbucks drive-thru for years
2. Experience a single incorrect order
3. RAGE UNCONTROLLABLY

A recipe for success OP!

black coffee is still under 2 bucks.
i did try soy instead of creamer once, it doesn't even mix, you can see it stays sorta sepate ina almost clumpy powder looking kinda way that is simply gross, it creams nothing. i just drink it black now.

Heh, I went there the other day and asked for a small "Bold Pick of the Day". The guy said "Uh... It's after noon!" like I was a dumbass. Weird people.

Uhh no. While they dark roast the loss of caffeine isn't as great as it's made out to be. What they do different than others is use a metric fuck ton of grounds per pot and their caffeine contents per cup are pretty crazy. I drink a lot of coffee but a large cup of Starbucks can leave my teeth chattering some mornings. A 16 oz from there can have over 300mg worth. That's damn near 4 redbulls.

They must have changed it... when i worked there 10 years ago... they used a tiny ass amount of grounds per pot... to me it tasted watered down like hell..

The ones near me have the coffee filters practically overflowing with grounds when they swap them out.

Triple Venti Sugar free, Non fat, No foam, 1 pump caramel, 1 pump white mocha, 2 scoops vanilla bean powder, peppermint latte with 2 shots poured over the top (apagotto style) with caramel drizzle under and on top of the whipped cream, double cuppe, extra extra hot

I really hope you're female.

LOL

LOL

and... you think that's because they overflow 'em when they fill?

LOL

:awe:

they probably don't replace the grounds when making a new pot..

Laugh all you want. The labs still say they have a shit load of caffeine. And my own personal experience says they have a shit load compared to others.

Do people really think a cup of coffee that costs 1-2 bucks at a gas station costs 5 bucks at starbucks?

There's plenty of reasons to hate on starbucks - but seriously this is the dumbest. A large cup of plain coffee is 2 bucks.

If i didn't care for them - I'd at least appreciate the fact that they are a great public service. It's hard to beat their penetration and the availability of generally clean bathrooms and cold water dispensers in portable cups.

sh*tting on starbucks is sport.
but saying they double brew grounds is silly. coffee cannot be stretched like tea, it doesn't get just watered down, it gets down right putrid.

Yea i've had plenty of dodgy coffee at gas stations and 7/11's, unless its peak time the coffees been baking into muck on the hot plate, the carafe's probably not been properly cleaned for a while, its not their main thing and so their under paid employees dedication to properly procedure is probably questionable. Its only a few cents less at such places as well. I've had a far more consistent good cup of coffee at starbucks than at gas stations, sometimes its just plain awful at gas stations.

BS. Lattes are good and are definitely coffee. I usually drink black coffee myself, but do appreciate a latte on occasion.

A "watered down" espresso is called an americano and is essentially the same as a standard coffee.

The taste is never the same. caffeine levels may be the same(not sure), but ugh, they don't taste well. To me anyway.

Does seem to be the case from my experience. If you order the mild at SB you get more caffeine than their bold. But you probably know that too.

Edit: to vi_edit; may be i notice a difference because if i ever make coffee at home, i use a lot of beans to make a small pot. Don't know. Either way, as long as it tastes good, i'm happy. caffeine is just a extra plus.
