%#@8 Starbucks

I don't usually drink coffee, but every now and then I will pick up a latte on the way into work in the morning. There is a Starbucks about 6 blocks from my office that has a drivethru, so it is very convienent to pick it up there.

This morning I placed my order for a grande latte, drove up to the window and all was good ... until I get to my desk, pull off the lid and take my first sip.

WTF, they gave me a decaf/soy/splenda latte. Who the f drinks this shit. What is the point of coffee if you don't want the caffiene in the morning? I hate splenda, sugar or any other sweetener in my coffee, and I'm sorry but soy is not my choice in coffee.

I ended up pouring out the sickly sweet, weak assed hot drink and just had a cup of our horrible office coffee.

No more $5 Starbucks coffee for me.

Usually when handing you the drink they'll repeat what the drink is so I've never had a problem with a mixed up order..

Lesson learned, check your order first before you trust the pimply teen behind the counter to pay attention

This is true, but this time she didn't say anything and just seemed to be mad at the world. I should have checked the label, but I have never had this problem before.

Don't call a latte coffee.

Either you drink a regular coffee (black) or espresso shots (straight, not mixed or watered down) or you are drinking a week drink.

As for odd orders, i've heard one person order a decaf espresso shot before.... :-/

Decaf, soy, and splenda? WTF is even the point of that combination? If you punch that into the register it should just say "No".

I didn't realize there was a difference in the taste between regular and decaf? For a couple of months before I started a ec cycle I cycled off regular coffee. Started at 75%; regular 25% decaf and went to 100% decaf.

I think the soy would be a noticeable difference from cow milk though. Also the splenda.

Meanwhile someone is wondering why their decaf/soy/splenda latte tastes funny.

They messed up the orders, that'll teach you to check the label =\

I stopped purchasing Starbucks when HST came in here, along with a bunch of other trivial items. It's my small protest against the freaking government, since I never actually got to vote on whether i wanted that tax or not. Assholes.

"Error. Error. Can't make that. No. Won't do it. Punch customer. I bet customer drives a Prius. Point and laugh. Point and laugh."

stop ordering latte's and start drinking quadshots of espresso

That was my typical "I'm gonna get messed up on caffeine" drink once a week during high school. Brewed my own espresso, and would make a "latte" that was either 2 double shots, 3 double shots, or 4 double shots... the more espresso, the less room there was for milk and chocolate syrup in the cup. It was my "drink on the way to school" drink, and boy that was fun gulping down. 😀

I swear I was literally high by time second block started. Me and a buddy would sometimes down one of those beastly Monster cans as well around lunch. Whew.

Hi, my name is destrekor, and I used to abuse caffeine.

It's funny to think how many people are living from paycheck to paycheck (certainly no one on ATOT though), yet get a $5 coffee 5 days a week. (over $1000 annually spent on coffee.)

It's not a $5 coffee though. Coffee is well...coffee with maybe a bit of creamer to take the edge off. Those are $1.50-$2.00.

These things are like 300 calorie coffee flavored desserts in a convenient sipping friendly delivery device.

1.49 for coffee at circle K. mondays its 89 cents. 24oz of goodness. although i do go to starbux if i am given gift cards, i have a few family members that get the cards from friends/ work and dont like starbux, so they give them to me. ill spend other peoples money there.

not to mention the calories. It's ridiculous.

Forget Starbucks, you have a coffee maker at your office and you stop for coffee on the way in? If the coffee is bad at your office, buy good coffee and make it yourself. You'd rather spend $5 a day than $7 for two weeks worth of coffee if you have to make it yourself?

BS. Lattes are good and are definitely coffee. I usually drink black coffee myself, but do appreciate a latte on occasion.

A "watered down" espresso is called an americano and is essentially the same as a standard coffee.
