This looks more Incel than a racist hate crime. It’s not the Asian community that is specifically the target of this terrorist attack; it’s women.

I think more investigation needs to happen before that determination can be made.

Or he's just trying to dodge the Hate Crime adder to his sentence.

Can it be both. Since he attacked multiple locations of Asian businesses. Or is the prostitution market in Atlanta, exclusively asian?

While I don’t have experience with this and I do not think it is weird for a dude to go.
Now that’s out of the way, these aren’t “Massage places” or “Spa’s” they are rub & tug places. These places tend to be staffed by Koreans.

Seems at least locally, they let them exist in quiet for a while, then next thing you know, there are like 4 arrests for running a prostitution ring. They go out of business only to return, then in another 4 or 5 years they do a reset again.

Based on the picture here, he didn't seem to be trying to hide:

This article contains the first evidence of what might be the motive which is the victim's statements to the police.

"[Long] does claim that it was not racially motivated," Capt. Jay Baker of the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office said, while cautioning that it's still early in the investigation.
"He apparently has an issue, what he considers a sex addiction, and sees these locations ... [as] a temptation for him that he wanted to eliminate."

Bleed them dry until they can no longer make the protection payments, then make room for fresh meat.

From a BBC article:

Atlanta shootings: Spa shooting victims identified after arrest - BBC News

Massage parlours are known to sometimes provide prostitution services, but authorities say there is no indication yet that this is the case at the targeted locations.
"These are legally operating businesses that have not been on our radar," said Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, who added that the city would not engage in "victim shaming, victim blaming".

He looks like an Amish Richard Spencer.

I feel like the police treat them like low level pot dealers. They are very likely plenty aware of them (because they probably frequent them when they desire what they offer), they give them a bit of a scare while saying that as long as they stay in their lane (i.e. don't start slinging opiates or underage girls) they'll let them continue but "they're keeping an eye on them" then when probably someone gets to talking about a cop being too friendly/frequent at one they do a raid and make some arrests to make it seem like they're doing something and give the facade that they were scoping the place out and not just embibing. They probably let most of the charges slide and things kinda go back to normal. Which...maybe that's for the best as it likely helps keep the cops from getting too wound up while keeping that stuff somewhat in check.

I was wondering if it could be something like that. I was leaning more toward radical religious thoughts considering massage parlors to be a "Den of Iniquity", and that's why he shot them up.

Although, I do wonder if it isn't that these massage parlors offered services "under the table" (i.e. no prostitution), but rather that the kid kept getting overly excited from a person touching him as part of the massage? Regardless of which, it's pretty messed up to kill someone because "you make me think naughty thoughts". Could it be a case of excessive adherence to religious doctrine/teaching? ("These impure thoughts are evil!")

One witness already reportedly said the shooter was shouting that he wanted to "kill all the Asians."

It seems the theory that it isn't a hate crime is something the cops are peddling right now as they are moonlighting as his legal team and claiming he just had a bad day. Yet another "just a mental health" issue when it comes to a white mass shooter.

I hate that Nazis hair cut style that seems quite popular now, thanks to the pandemic, and my distain for that look, my hair is flowing over my shoulders, once again in my life. Well, except for the dome.

Everyone knows these Asian spas and massage places are front for prostitution. Most just look the other way because bunch of people in government and higher ups use these services as client. You have businessmen, church leaders and members, government officials, law enforcements, etc. They all frequent these Asian spas and massage parlors for sex.

The kid went to these places for sex. It's not uncommon at all. Everyone knows the game.

Sounds like he was a regular. I think we can all agree he wasn't visiting for the aromatherapy before. I think needledickbugfuck here took out his inadequacy on those he also saw as convenient 'kung flu' scape goats, I don't see how this can't be racially motivated. He traveled past all manner of other females in the commission of this violence I bet.

I guess we'll see though, a more complete story will take awhile. Can't wait to hear the rationalizing. When Roofe killed all those black people in church, right wingers said it wasn't racist, it was religion that was under attack. I suppose this is free enterprise being assaulted now, with an obligatory antifa and jewish coverup, naturally.

Sickness and guns. Typically, a bad combo.
