That may be true in your experience. However, in cases of erroneous advertised prices, I’ve gotten the customer service desk to honor the advertised price before. Target and Staples come to mind as examples.

It isn’t the money, it’s the principle. I’d probably buy it for $5 if I could give only $2.50 to Steam and the other $2.50 to the developers directly. Stubborn? Sure. Bitching? No.

I fully believe Steam was within their rights to change the price – and I haven’t said otherwise. I just don’t think it was very ethical to do so when there was a literal clock on the ad telling me how long I had left to buy the game at the stated price.

Context! That was referring to B&M stores which have a policy to honor ad prices. Therefore they DO have to honor any mistaken prices.

I wasn't talking about Steam with that imperative, and you’d know that if you weren’t looking for a reason to make my original post into a huge freaking deal.
 
Am I stupid or is this game just not fun. I got it a while back but I cannot find any joy in it at all. I dig a hole and then get killed by monsters. Minecraft blows this out of the water.
 
I watched a few of the intro vids. Built myself a house to keep the zombies out, really liking it so far. Going to get in on some of it with some friends tonight for a bit, looking forward to it.

Wish I was that lucky, I've hardly found anything other than copper. I've looted a couple pieces of equipment and the merchant moved in, but my mining has been less than successful. It is cool that you can take your character and everything on him from one world to the next if you don't like the one you're on.

It took me a few starts to figure out what I was doing. I was very confused about why I couldn't build a house to protect me from monsters with a Wood Wall until I realized that there's a background and a foreground.

Your not stupid, this game blows monkey chunks..i'm saddened i wasted 4.99
 
I have parts coming in for a storage server this week. The Terraria server will be migrating to that machine once I get it up and running, so that my Rift/Other game habits don't impact Terraria that much.

And yes, it's a LARGE world. Hope it's not too laggy... I'm stuck on DSL for the time being. I'll keep the server up as long as people find it amusing. Hope you're all enjoying it.

Now I find more Copper and Iron than anything, but you find more silver and gold the deeper you go. Once the background changes from dirt to rock, you usually find more iron and silver than copper. Although once I found I could kill The Eater of Worlds easily, all of those ores kind of became obsolete, since I could just build Demonite stuff.
 
This game is ridiculously amazing and addictive. I don't quite understand why--b/c 90% of the time you are just digging.

Imagine if this game had been released on SNES way back when. I wonder what today's games would be like...
