v6 client? If so, max packet size "big" and advmethods turned off?

If you post the "startup" portion of the log file, I might be able to help.

v7 client, "client-type" => "bigadv" is the only option set. do I need to set max packet size?

I had to turn off all of my production boxes except for my VM. Yes, I'm running F@H on a ESXi server... because it's a E5-2650 16C/32T + 64GB of RAM monster. Too bad the E5-2665 box got dedicated to a storage appliance (Solaris!) and my 48 core box was overloaded so I had to shut off F@H (running VM + PXE duty and I was setting up 2 dozen machines yesterday).

On a side note, completely OT.... I HATE DEBIAN PRESEEDING! Why you do everything via a normal kickstart? Why do I need to use a KS + SEED? BLAH! (I have to set up a software RAID, which works in kickstart, but not in Debian seeds. Setting up a CentOS server is so much easier to automate).

Yes, you need the max packet size, or it will never send you a bigadv. Also, it you don't do the below, it will pre-download new packets, and unless you finish then in less than a day, you will miss the deadline for a bonus every time.

Add the slot option next-unit-percentage and set it to 100.

Is the Opteron getting some good points for you at at this point?

Last year nearly all my folders were VMs (12 or 18 vCPU), and even this year my 2600k is an ESXi box 🙂

Here are the stats:

FAH20121227.JPG

Tomorrow TeAm AnandTech will have produced more points than in December 2011: more than 56 Million points in one month. Probably we will end up around 64 million points; especially if Mark gets a few of his BigAdv-bonus-WUs in!

On an other note: with much fewer computers and cores and GPUs I have already produced more than past year ... now already @ 4.2 Million points (compared to 3.96 Millions last year). I think quite a few folders will pass their best production records ... 🙂

I may have a problem. I lost 1/2 of my power feed. Lost 2 computers, and 5 hours on my bigadv. This may cost me 300k points.

The Sunday, December 29, stats: only 2 more days to go!

FAH20121229.JPG

The TeAm has produced more than 60 Million points (an all-time high)!

Here is the December production graph:

Not bad at all! You do see the dip in production during the PrimeGrid Challenge ...

Well, I was expecting more from 24 cores. Maybe I should have gotten 2 magney cours instead of the interlagos.

Anyway, there is a screen shot s few posts up, its around 100k points. Last one for the race dumped an hour ago. 216,700 points. The next one will be on new years day.

Here are the stats for December 30, 2012:

FAH20121230.JPG

One more set of stats tomorrrow around this time ... and the the last set of stats on New Years day, around 2 pm SNT (Swedish Normal Time = UTC -1). Those stats will be last one for this race.

Lets fold some more ... only 40 more hours of the race! :hmm:

December 31, 2012. The last stats for the year 2012.
The next stats will be the final ones ... 🙂

Just the final 14½ hours of the race ... fold on!

I wish all the TeAm-mates a ...

Happy New Year 2013,
much health, love and success!

Thanks for the stats!

I am very new to folding(this race is my first time using it), but I've had several issues so far this month with either very strange PPD, or things just not working right and I was hoping you guys could give me some insight.

For example: right now both GTX 460's are running at 99% usage. The temps are well in line and it's running at the right core speed, so I know it's not throttling down or anything like that. The one is working on project 7626, and shows an ETA of 128 days, for a PPD of 109. The other GTX 460 is working on project 7624, and shows an ETA of 351 days, for a PPD of 38. Now, before today, my GTX 460's were averaging > 15,000 PPD each.

I'm pretty sure I can delete them out of my work folder and it will get new units, but does it negatively affect your score to do so? And why out of the blue would it go from 15,000 PPD to 38?

Thanks!

I'm not running any 7624s right now but some time ago I ran into a similar situation and had to delete the work folder to clear things up. I would if I were you. It won't affect your score other than get you back into production. 🙂
Occasionally they put out a "bad" WU and when you get one just get by it asap.

I finally got back in the black as far as my PPD is concerned, because I finally put my GTX 460 back in. I was afraid it would start my computer rebooting randomly again; but that just seems to have been a loose wire on my power switch terminals. 🙂

7625s are taking ~16 hours on my GTX 460 with the v6 command-line client. Though I got a 10127 on my CPU that won't finish for a couple of days. 🙄

Also, THANKS PETER for all the effort you put into these races. 🙂

I deleted the work folder and now each 460 is showing 19,000+ estimated PPD. Thanks for the advice!

Here are - as far as I can see - the final stats for the 7th Annual Holiday Season Race in Folding@Home.

Here are the individual production numbers:

Here is the TeAm's production during the race:

We have done very well:

  • The TeAm has during December produced more points than ever during a whole month: 65 821 015 points. That is 9 563 732 points more than in the previous race.
  • We have increased PPD from approx 1.3 million to 2.26 million.
  • Many racers have passed a number of milestones (I'll post those in the corresponding thread).
  • At least I have had fun ...
